‘Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei’ Season 4: Everything We Know So Far

This is a live update article and it will be updated as new details about Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei Season 4 come our way. This is what we know so far.

'Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei' is one of the best comedy anime shows of all time. This show uses different techniques where viewers do not have a prior idea as to what to expect in a joke, whereas, in shows like 'Gintama,' fans do know what to expect on the comedy side of the content. 'Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei' is a collection of nonsensical jokes, too, that forces viewers to laugh their gut out at the silliness. Only anime lovers would know the significant difference between a dramatic soap opera and animes, even though both types of series and content covers serious themes.

This anime has managed to make millions of fans who enjoy the hilarious gimmicks of the characters, and even though the anime series does not really have a concrete storyline, it still manages to entertain the viewers with interesting characters, dialogues, and humor. The show is the product of works done by Shaft Studio, which has done an excellent job with its art style and consistency in terms of its animation quality. In short, 'Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei' is a brilliant show to engage in, and fans definitely don't want to settle with just one season. Well, the producers knew that, which is why it has two more seasons after the first one and most probably will have more in the coming future. Let's look at the things we know about the possibility of the fourth installment on its way.

When Will' Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei' Season 4 Release?

The first season aired for the first time on July 8, 2007, and had a total of 12 episodes. It entertained the viewers till September 23, 2007. The first season indeed performed well, leading to the birth of season 2 that aired on January 6, 2008, and ended on March 30, 2008. After the second installment made its way to the screen, a 3-episode OVA of the anime aired from October 17, 2008, to February 17, 2008. Fans didn't get much time to contain their excitement as they were soon blessed with season 3 that premiered on July 5, 2009, and continued till September 27, 2009. After this, a 2-episode OVA titled 'Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei Bangaichi' aired from November 17, 2009, to February 17, 2010.

The fact states that the anime series has so far adapted more than 100 chapters of the manga while doing this, and also has skipped or jumped a few chapters. The original manga consists of 200 chapters, which clearly tells that there is no lack of source and material which is required in the making of another season. But, we cannot ignore the fact that it has been a long time since the last part of the anime series came out on screen, running our mind through some could-be-harsh reality. However, we cannot completely give our hope up, knowing that there is no scarcity of material for the new season. Fans would love to see the fourth installment after staying loyal to the show until today. There hasn't been any update regarding the making of the new season, so we will have to wait for official announcements to confirm anything.

What Is 'Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei' All About?

Twitter

Let's refresh our memory a bit as it has been quite a long time since we saw or heard about the show. The anime series is about a young man, Nozomu Itoshiki, who also goes by the alias Zetsubou-Sensei. He is a high school teacher and is known for his pessimistic nature towards life as while teaching his students, he preaches about life being a big disappointment and how he tried committing suicide. On the other hand, he has students who are also unique in their own way and are different from regular students. Some students who study under him are strange and unusual, including a mysterious girl named Abiru, who appeared with very severe injuries, Kiri Komori, who is a hermit and who only wishes to stay at school all the time. Then there is Kafuka Fura, who, despite being a polar opposite of Nozomu, has a massive crush on him.

This show is loved by many because it is a satirical comedy presentation of today's world that includes things like strange conversations that take place between Nozomu and his weird students. The conversation consists of different topics like Japanese culture and how it affects their lives.
