Sarah Jessica Parker Seen On Set Reprising Her Role As Sarah Sanderson For 'Hocus Pocus 2'

Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler, and Kathy Najimy are returning for the upcoming Disney+ sequel.

Sarah Jessica Parker In Hocus Pocus

It looks like Sarah Jessica Parker is busy with reboots this year. The 56-year-old actress wrapped up the Sex, and the City revival called And Just Like That... and is now putting her focus on the highly anticipated Hocus Pocus sequel. The 1993 classic is getting a reboot with the Sanderson sisters returning. In the film, SJP will reprise her role as the youngest of the Sanderson sisters alongside Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy.

Parker was recently teasing fans with a peek at the prep that's going down. According to E Online, she sang to her fans on her Instagram stories, "Hair and makeup test on HP2." She then pointed the camera at "Sarah Sanderson's face," which is just makeup being blended by the on-set makeup artist. "We'll let you know, folks, how it all turns out. How it shakes down." She also gave fans a look at a blond wig being prepped. "Where's Sarah? Where's Sarah?" she said in the iconic witch's voice. "I'm not showing more right now. We're in the early stages."

According to PEOPLE, she was recently spotted filming the sequel outside the Newport, Rhode Island-based Old Colony House built in 1741. SJP was wearing a multi-colored witch costume similar to that of her outfit in the first film.

Hocus Pocus 2 will premiere on Disney+ in Fall 2022. The sequel will pick up almost 30 years after Max (Omri Katz) lit the Black Flame Candle in the 1993 film and accidentally resurrected three witches on the hunt to steal children. In the upcoming movie, the sister trio—Winifred, Sarah, and Mary—now seek revenge as they awaken in present-day Salem. Three high school students—Becca, Cassie, and Izzy—must find a way to stop the witches, reports Entertainment Weekly. Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Hannah Waddingham, Doug Jones, Juju Brener, Froy Gutierrez, Taylor Henderson, and Nina Kitchen will join the cast.

"I am beyond thrilled to be involved in the sequel to a film that is as beloved as Hocus Pocus," director Anne Fletcher said in a statement. "Fans around the world have embraced these characters and have made this film a Halloween tradition whose popularity continues to grow, and how lucky am I to be back at Disney with these three extraordinarily talented ladies in the iconic roles they created, as well as our fabulous new additions to the cast?" And it looks like fans just can't wait for the sequel too!
