Samuel L. Jackson Wants You to Stay the F*ck At Home

Celebrities have joined the fight against the coronavirus, and Samuel L. Jackson has a very important message for you: Stay the F*ck at Home. Please.

Samuel L. Jackson

As everyone should know by now, 2020 has devolved into a situation that requires multiple uses of the word "motherf*cker." Who better to deal with this need than Samuel L. Jackson? While we're not worried about snakes on planes, we are facing a massive problem when it comes to the spread of coronavirus. COVID-19 has hit over a million people infected as of the writing of this article, and the saddest part is that we could have avoided all of these if people just stayed home. Several health agencies, including the World Health Organization (WHO), have advised people that the best way to prevent the spread of the virus is to self-isolate or stay at home.

Unfortunately, information from several sources has shown that while health authorities have advised people to stay at home, not many individuals have listened. Now, in some regions of the world, populations have been forced to self-quarantine. In other parts of the world, people are still trusted to make the right decision and practice social distancing. And that's where Samuel L. Jackson comes in.

A Jimmy Kimmel Live to Remember

Stay the F*** At Home

The Pulp Fiction superstar went on Jimmy Kimmel Live (but streaming sensibly from the comfort of his own home) to read a story for us that he hopes would hammer home the message. A few years ago, Jackson teamed up with author Adam Mansbach to create his expletive-laced children's book, "Go the F*ck to Sleep." Jackson and Mansbach termed the book a "children's book for adults," and it took off like a rocket ship. Now, with the arrival of the coronavirus, we have another excellent excuse to have Samuel L. Jackson read to us all over again.

The new children's story for adults starts off simply enough: "The 'rona is spreading, this sh*t is no joke – it's no time to work or roam. The way you can fight it is simple, my friends: stay the f*ck at home." Mansbach's way with words runs throughout the entire poem, and we're treated to Jackson's baritone telling us to remember social distancing cues and Stay the F*ck At Home. As the data suggests, his message isn't just a fun warning to all of us, but an essential step towards helping to fight the virus and keep our medical systems functioning correctly.

Flattening the Curve by Staying at Home

The crux of Jackson and Mansbach's poem is to remind people that they should remain isolated from everyone else for as long as possible to aid in slowing the spread of COVID-19. The virus is extremely contagious, and simply coming in contact with someone who already has the virus could cause it to spread to you. Other preventative measures include washing hands after going out and limiting trips to the outside world as much as possible. Most countries have cut back on workers attending their jobs as well, giving the whole world a sort of post-apocalyptic vibe. We can only hope that more people listen to Jackson's heartfelt plea and don't get sick. Remember, ladies and gents, don't think you can't get it. Listen to Samuel L. Jackson and Stay the F*ck at Home.
