Ryan Reynolds Confirms That He’s Writing Another Deadpool Movie With An Ensemble Cast

Ryan Reynolds discussed the future of the Merc With a Mouth in an interview with TIME. Reynolds was initially questioned about why he thinks Deadpool is best suited as a supporting character since his tale would come to an end if he joined the Avengers or X-Men. Wade Wilson would have achieved his dream. In addition, he subtly implies that he is writing something for Deadpool, but he doesn’t specify what it is.

“I’m writing something right now… It’s a little ensemble, but I like that he’s isolated,” he said. If he becomes an Avenger or an X-Man, we’re at the end. That’s his wish fulfillment, and you can’t give him that.”

It’s compelling to see Deadpool in an ensemble film. In Deadpool 2, we saw Deadpool temporarily assemble X-Force, but most of the members perished before they could face Josh Brolin’s Cable. It’s not as though we haven’t seen Wade get along with other people; Deadpool has fought with Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Domino (Zazie Beetz). In actuality, Deadpool has had the greatest success on the big screen when he is in a group. Because it enables studios to release additional characters that fans are familiar with, comic book fans adore a good collaboration.
