Ryan Gosling teases fans by sharing a tiny detail from his upcoming movie Barbie.

Keeping the plot details under tight wraps Ryan expressed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that the character of Ken in Barbie is having a much rougher go at life than his hunted spy character in Netflix’s The Gray Man. “That Ken life is even harder than the ‘Gray Man’ life, I think,” Gosling quipped. “Ken’s got no money, he’s got no job, he’s got no car, he’s got no house. He’s going through some stuff.”

In The Gray Man, Gosling stars as Court Gentry, a CIA mercenary who goes rogue. A team of government hitmen — led by Evans — hunt him across the globe. In The Gray Man, Evans refers to Gosling’s character as a “Ken doll.” To this Gosling jokingly said that it "is not an insult at all! I’m proud of that."

"I have that Ken-ergy that you can feel, obviously," Gosling said.

Barbie is directed by Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie plays the role of Barbie in it. Photos from the set disclose that the wardrobe is retro and there are a lot of bright colors. However, Gosling said, "That's nothing." When the first picture of the 41-year-old actor had come out sporting an unbuttoned jeans vest, flaunting his toned and tanned body, all set to play the role of Barbie's plastic boyfriend, it received many reactions from social media users.

"I can’t wait for people to see the film," he exclaimed. Gosling added, joking that Mattel will come “box me up” if he discloses any information about Barbie.

In an earlier interview with the outlet, Margot Robbie, who stars as Barbie told that “whatever we think the Barbie movie is, it’s not that,” which Gosling elaborated on. “I would never correct Barbie. I would never dream of it. Whatever Barbie says is exactly right. She’s right,” he jokingly responded. “It’s not what you think it is unless it is and then you know what it is, but I don’t think that’s what you think it is.”

The Barbie supporting cast includes the likes of America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Issa Rae, Michael Cera and more.

Emma Mackey had earlier seemingly confirmed that the Barbie movie features multiple Barbies and Kens. Liu described Barbie as “wild” and “incredibly unique,” adding, “I wish I could just show you what we do day-to-day because it’s crazy.” The film is not a musical, but Liu said he’d been in many dance rehearsals for the movie.

Currently,

Barbie is in making and is said to be released on 21st July 2023.
