Rural Italian Village Is Selling Homes For $1 To Attract Americans To Move Abroad

To encourage Americans to go overseas, properties in the charming Sardinian village of Ollolai are being offered for just $1.

Mayor Francesco Columbu believes Americans are key to revitalizing the community, stating, “We are betting on Americans to help us revive the village. They are our winning card.”

The program provides a variety of housing options, ranging from reasonably priced fixer-uppers to somewhat more expensive ready-to-live-in homes. Ollolai has received more than 35,000 inquiries since the program’s inception, most of which have come from the United States.
