Roosters Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

Based on the Spanish show Alpha Males, Roosters had Jeroen Spitzenberger, Waldemar Torenstra, Jennifer Hoffman, Jelka van Houten, André Dongelmans, and Benja Bruijning as its stars.

The six-episode show premiered on February 28th and is about a close-knit group of friends who feel lost in the modern world. Each of them is going through a crisis about what it means to be a man, and it’s funny to see how they try to save their relationships and jobs.

Has Roosters Been Renewed For Season 2?

Netflix has renewed Roosters for a second season, which is also known as Haantjes in Dutch-speaking areas.

The show hasn’t been a big hit in any other country, but it was renewed anyway. In fact, it didn’t show up on any non-English TV lists at all in its first week, which means it got less than 1.2M views.

We have seen this happen with other foreign comedies, though; they have a hard time becoming popular outside of their home country. That’s why we need to look at the top 10s for Roosters and how well it performs, specifically in the Netherlands and Belgium. That’s where things get clearer about the renewal. Since March 1, the show has been number one in the Netherlands. As of March 10, it was still in the top 10 in Belgium.

As we’ve said before, a show usually needs to stay in the top 10 for 30 days straight in order to get renewed based on how well it does in its home country. Since it’s already number 1, it’ll easily meet that goal.

A post on the Netflix NL media page and a video of the cast holding a “Haantjes S2 Komt Fraan!” sign and saying “Thank you” went along with the renewal.

Production will start in the summer of 2025, and the show will return in 2026.
