Reese Witherspoon Is All Set To Star In Two New Netflix Rom-Coms

Reese Witherspoon is all set to join the Netflix family in two upcoming Rom-coms.

Reese Witherspoon has recently been starring in a number of very dark and twisted dramas such as "Big Little Lies" or "Little Fires Everywhere". But she is all set to return to her roots and lighten up the mood in two new Netflix Romantic Comedies.

Witherspoon will be producing and starring in the Netflix Rom-Coms "Your Place or Mine" and "The Cactus" through her production company Hello Sunshine.

Your Place or Mine

The first film "Your Place or Mine" follows the lives of two long-distance best friends whose lives completely change when one of them decides to go pursue a life-long dream of theirs while the other volunteers to keep watch of their teenage son. The film is based on an original script from "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" writer Aline Brosh McKenna. McKenna will also be directing the film in her feature debut. Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan will also be producing the film through Aggregate Films.

The Cactus

The second new Netflix Rom-Com that Witherspoon will be starring in is "The Cactus". This film follows a woman who unexpectedly becomes pregnant at the age of 45 and has to rethink the structured life that she has created. She finds herself on a journey towards love and family and must accept this unexpected new gift. The film is based on Sarah Haywood’s bestselling novel of the same name.

Reese Witherspoon's comments on her involvement in the two films

We have been looking for the right feature opportunities to collaborate with Ted Sarandos, Scott Stuber and the entire team at Netflix for a while and we couldn’t be more excited to be working with them on these two romantic comedies.
Both Sarah Haywood’s and Aline Brosh McKenna’s stories blend everything we love about traditional Rom-Coms with strong, smart and determined female leads.

Any release dates announced?

At the moment there is no set release date for the films but we can expect Netflix to get it to our screens as soon as humanly possible. Are you excited to see Witherspoon take on these Rom-coms?
