Ready Player One Is Finally Getting A Sequel!

Ernest Cline's highly-acclaimed, ultimate gamer geek novel Ready Player One is finally getting a sequel!

Ready Player One brought gamers into another realm filled with pop culture references, adored gaming characters, and all things nostalgic.

Cline's book was so vividly written that it became a magic portal for readers who would want to escape from reality, almost similar to the plot of his book. Ready Player One was so popular that it spent 100 weeks in the New York Times Best Seller list and was translated into 37 languages.

It was later adapted into a film directed by renowned director Steven Spielberg, the guy behind timeless classics like Jurassic Park, ET, and many more.

If you're one of the big fans of Ready Player One, you must rejoice for Cline is about to bring you back to the OASIS!

A 384 pages novel sequel rightfully titled Ready Player Two is set to release on November 24, 2020! What's better is you can preorder Ready Player Two now!

If you happen to be one of the very few who haven't heard of Ready Player One and the wonderful world of OASIS, allow us to give you the initiation rites.

The story is set in a dystopian world in the year 2045 and follows a teenager named Wade Watts. The real world is in a total mess, and Wade, along with millions of people, escapes reality by going to the OASIS, a virtual reality world that allows anyone to be whoever they want.

Sounds like every game, right? Right, except that the OASIS involves a total sensory experience, which makes logging off to reality feel like waking up from a good dream.

Things took a different turn after OASIS's creator James Halliday dies. He set gamers on a quest to find the keys to the kingdom in an "Easter Egg Hunt." Whoever gets the keys earns a massive fortune and control of the OASIS. Spoiler alert, Wade and his team, the High-5, won the treasure hunt and took control of the OASIS. 

 While the plot details regarding the novel sequel Player Ready Two have not been revealed, we're expecting to see Parzival (Wade) and the HIGH-5 navigate both the OASIS and the real world. The second book will surely be more exciting as Cline finds new inspiration in Spielberg.

During a trailer launch event in 2017, Cline said: 'I can't talk about it too much, but I can tell you there's no better inspiration for a writer returning to a world they've already worked on when they're seeing Steven Spielberg bringing that world to life.'
