The young superhero's saga continues after Netflix officially confirms season 2 for Raising Dion. Get all the latest updates here.
Raising Dion has been officially confirmed for season 2, and things are set to get more exciting for the young superhero.
Netflix shared the amazing news early this year. Here's what's in store for Raising Dion season 2.
Netflix has not announced an official date yet for Raising Dion season 2. However, the streaming company revealed that production will begin later this year.
With this in mind, we can expect the season to premiere at least around the fourth quarter of 2021.
The first season released on October 4, 2019, and there's a possibility that the follow-up season will release around this time too.
The Netflix superhero drama series follows the story of a seven-year-old boy Dion, who possesses supernatural powers.
Dion has inherited these gifts from his dad, who ended up getting trapped inside a storm by a deadly lightning man.
The entity who imprisoned Dion's dad wants to take Dion's powers away from him, and his mom must protect the young boy at all costs.
The superhero series is based on Dennis Liu's 2015 comic book and a short film of the same name.
The first season provided us with nine episodes that focus mainly on Dion's discovery of his power.
The second season is planned to have eight episodes, and we are hoping to see Dion have more mastery of his powers. It would be interesting to see the tables turn with Dion now more capable of protecting his mother too.
People are also hoping to see Dion’s father Mark (Michael B Jordan) in the upcoming season.
Most of the main characters are coming back for the follow-up season.
Ja'Siah Young will continue to play the titular role, Dion Warren. Alisha Wainwright will reprise her role as Dion's mother, Nicole Reese.
Sammy Haney is also coming back as Dion's friend Esperanza, who suffers from a brittle bone disease.
Jazmyn Simon is also returning as Dion's aunt, Kat. Ali Ahn is also expected to reprise her role as Suzanne, the CEO of BIONA.
Co-creator Carol Barbee is also coming back for the second season.
There is no official trailer yet for Raising Dion season 2. The production for the movie has not started yet so it will be a long wait before we could see the official trailer. Netflix often drops show trailers around a month before the official release date. Guess we'll have to wait for at least a year before we could see them.
But until then, enjoy the trailer for season 1:
