Queen Elizabeth Had A "Secret" Friendship With Tom Cruise Before She Died

Tom Cruise was able to land his helicopter on the Windsor Castle Lawn.

Tom Cruise and the Queen of England

Tom Cruise and the Queen of England were really good buds. Who would have thought? The Top Gun star and Queen Elizabeth developed a secret friendship, following her Platinum Jubilee. Queen Elizabeth was a big fan of the actor and wasn't very happy that she hadn't met him during the celebrations. So, the Queen, being the Queen, arranged a private meeting with Cruise. Cruise agreed and they both met up, the Queen giving the actor a special tour of Windsor Castle. She reportedly pulled out all the stops for Cruise even allowing him to land his helicopter on the Windsor Castle lawn.

A source revealed to the Times: "The Queen let it be known she was really disappointed not to have met Tom at the pageant.

"So he was invited to have a special tour of Windsor Castle with everything laid on for him. Afterwards, just the two of them had tea together.

"She loved seeing him and they really hit it off, so much so that she invited him back for lunch."

The two apparently had such a good time together that they agreed to meet for a second lunch date but that was unable to happen due to the Queen's passing.

"She's just a woman that I greatly admire," Cruise said. "I think she is someone who has tremendous dignity and I admire her devotion."

"What she has accomplished has been historic. I just remember always as a kid seeing photos of her."

You can see Tom Cruise in the recently released Top Gun: Maverick which became the 5th highest-grossing domestic film ever with a stunning $701 million, surpassing Black Panther. Tom Cruise's next films will be the next two installments in the Mission Impossible franchise, Dead Reckoning part one and part two.
