Pulse is Netflix’s first medical drama from the US, but it’s not their first ever; Hospital Playlist and Breathless are also foreign shows in the same genre. The 10 episodes of the show are about the people who work in the trauma unit at Maguire Hospital in Miami and their lives and jobs. Producers on the show are Robyn, Cuse, Bradley Gardner, Emma Forman, Michael Kick, and Kate Dennis. But with the first season wrapped, can we expect more episodes. Here’s what we know so far.
Has Pulse Been Renewed For Season 2?
As of May 27th, Netflix had not yet said if PULSE would be back for a second season.
We’re now split down the middle on whether the show will be renewed for a second season. This is because the show has done okay in the top 10, but not great.
The fact that the WGA has season 2 of PULSE in its files is a good sign. Before you jump to the wrong conclusions, let’s be very clear about what this means. When titles are mentioned here for new seasons that haven’t been officially renewed, it just means that Netflix has quietly let early work on new episodes begin. They will eventually decide if they want to go ahead with the episodes or not. These early steps are being taken so that the team can get right to work and start making things as soon as possible if the boss gives them the OK.
How Well Did Pulse Perform On Netflix?
Thanks to the Netflix top 10s and other sources, we can see how well the new medical thriller does.
The best way to tell if something is successful is to look at the world weekly top 10. The show was in the world top 10 for four weeks before it was taken off. It got 162.10 million hours watched, which is the same as 20.20 million views.
We also know that the show was in the weekly top 10s of 82 countries out of a possible 91. Israel had the best performance, with six weeks, followed by Austria, Germany, Italy, and a few other countries with four weeks.
We can, of course, use the amount of views to compare it to other shows that have been renewed, are in limbo, or have been canceled to see how well it’s doing. At the moment, it’s following closely behind Ransom Canyon and about the same as The Residence, a Shondaland show that is also waiting for a revival. Notably, it’s falling behind Obliterated, which was one of the most-watched Netflix shows ever that was canceled. To be honest, it doesn’t look very clear-cut. This means that Netflix will consider the finish rate along with other things when deciding whether to renew the show:
Who Will Be In Pulse Season 2?
The following players are likely to be back for season 2 of Pulse:
Willa Fitzgerald as Danny Simms.
Colin Woodell as Xander Phillips.
Jessie T. Usher as Sam Elijah.
Jack Bannon as Tom Cole.
Jessy Yates as Harper Simms.
Chelsea Muirhead as Sophie Chan.
Arturo Del Puerto as Luis Dominguez.
Justina Machado as Natalie Cruz.

When Will Pulse Season 2 Be Released?
This will depend on how quickly Netflix renews the show and when filming can start.
Filming for the first season took place from March 25, 2024, to July 26, 2024. It was 8 months and 1 week after shooting was over before Pulse was available on Netflix. If the show is renewed and shooting starts this year, Pulse could be back on Netflix as early as the second half of 2026.
