The upcoming sci-fi superhero film lands on Netflix very soon!
A new sci-fi superhero film is coming to Netflix a few weeks from now, and judging from the trailer, it looks like this could be the next hit.
If you've already watched Charlize Theron's The Old Guard, then you should add Project Power to your must-watch list because this new film looks just as intense, if not more.
Here's everything you need to know about Project Power.
Project Power is an upcoming Netflix original superhero film directed by Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost. In 2017, Netflix won in hard bidding against several studios to pick up the script from Mattson Tomlin.
Project Power is set in the streets of New Orleans, where a new mysterious pill is discovered. The pill unlocks superpowers unique to each user.
But there's a catch! Whoever takes the pill either develops 5 minutes of pure Power, or they can blow up and die.
Taking the pill is a big gamble, and you will never know how your body will react unless you try.
The pill eventually skyrocketed the crime rate in New Orleans. One local cop teams up with a teenage dealer and a former soldier to track down and stop the group that manufactures the powerful pills.
They risk taking the pills to fight Power with Power. Will they succeed? Or will one of the pills cause them death?
We have a few weeks to find out.
Unlike other Netflix originals like Charlize Theron's The Old Guard, Project Power is not based on a comic book.
However, there's always a chance for the film to follow a counter-trend and be adapted into a comic book series just like Stranger Things.
Project Power is set to release on August 14 on Netflix. Save the date for a fun Friday movie night!
The film started its Principal Photography in October 2018 and wrapped up in December that year. Filming took place in New Orleans, Louisiana.
We are so happy to tell you that Netflix has already released the official trailer for Project Power on July 15, 2020. Trailers often drop a month before a title's release.
The 2 minutes and 53 seconds long trailer is packed with powerful action scenes from the upcoming film.
