Potential Hulk Vs. Wolverine Movie Reportedly in Early Development At Marvel Studios

We Got This Covered has fired up the rumor mill once again as they have reported that a live-action movie adaptation of the Hulk vs. Wolverince comic storyline is in early development. But don't expect to see it on the big screen any time soon due to the global pandemic we're dealing with.

Hulk Vs. Wolverine

It was only just recently since we closed off Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the Infinity Saga. But now, we can look forward to a massive lineup of impressive Phase 4 movies and television series in 2020 and beyond, provided we face no more delays from the ongoing pandemic known as the coronavirus.

There have also been a bunch of exciting rumors swirling around in the past couple of weeks about what we can expect in Phase 4, including a potential She-Hulk series as confirmed by current live-action Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo from Comic Book News.

At the same time, the website also interestingly mentioned talks about a potential Hulk Vs. Wolverine movie possibly being in the works, in which Ruffalo himself would play the menacing green behemoth taking on the classic Marvel X-Man, Wolverine. And despite seemingly retiring from the role in 2018, it was also reported that Kevin Feige had left the door open for Hugh Jackman to reprise his role as Wolverine, should he ever change his mind.

This rumor is quite the interesting one since it was Ruffalo himself who had pitched it during his Tokyo comic con attendance in November 2019.

Possible Good News for Hulk and Wolverine fans

Hulk Vs Wolverine

Well, surprise surprise! Because our favorite movie and television news breakers We Got This Covered seems to have given those potential rumors more fuel to the fire in their recent report.

If the rumor does end up turning out to be true - which now we don’t see how they can’t with WGTC reporting it - it is a real breakthrough for the MCU since it has been facing a slew of tricky issues surrounding some of their major characters. But ever since Disney took over Fox, things have been quite easier for Marvel Studios. There was a bit of a scuffle negotiating the rights to bring back Spider-Man to the MCU, whereas the Hulk was only to be used as a supporting cast member due to Universal Studios withholding the distribution rights to standalone movies.

But now, not only have we gotten word that Marvel Studios has acquired the rights of the green giant, but they have also started planning his first-ever solo movie, which is the long-rumored Hulk vs. Wolverine movie. The ones reporting this news are the same people over at WGTC that reported that Ashoka Tano would cameo in The Mandalorian, a Justice League Dark series is being prepped for HBO Max, and that a She-Hulk series is landing on Disney Plus, all of which now have been confirmed or proven right.

The plan right now is to obviously have Mark Ruffalo land the leading role as Hulk, but there’s no word as of yet who will be playing Wolverine in MCU. But if the rumors turn out to be true, we might get our answers to those questions from our good pals over at WGTC sometime real soon.
