The movie has a star-studded cast with Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence in the lead role and received mixed reviews.
The Adam McKay disaster movie, Don't Look Up made waves when it premiered on Netflix. The movie is a sci-fi political satire that follows the attempt of two astronomers who attempt to warn humanity about an approaching comet that will destroy human civilization. The comet is symbolism for climate change and how world governments, as well as media, treat the urgency of the situation. It may be about climate change but is applicable to any catastrophic event that may impede the creation of wealth for the rich.
It received mixed reviews. While some people could see a striking similarity between the events of the movie and the reality we live in, there were others who thought it missed the mark. The movie has a star-studded cast with Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence in the lead role. The other stars include Rob Morgan, Jonah Hill, Mark Rylance, Tyler Perry, Timothée Chalamet, Ron Perlman, Ariana Grande, Scott Mescudi, Himesh Patel, Melanie Lynskey, Cate Blanchett, and Meryl Streep.
Whether people liked the film or not, they had a thing or two to say about it. Here's what people of Twitter had to say about Don't Look Up:
Leonardo DiCaprio having an age appropiate wife and grown ass kids in don't look up is more funnier than the jokes

Jennifer Lawrence’s character in “don’t look up” dwelling on being charged for free snacks while waiting on the world to end is too damn relatable.

DiCaprio has also been promoting the website of #DontLookUp, which tells us to cut emissions by turning off our lights or eating more veggies. I am very tired of the 1% passing the blame to the other 99%. It's not me who needs to change, it's people like Leo. 2/2

“Don’t Look Up” is world-class sci-fi (with the “fi” admittedly dubious). Recommended viewing for anyone alive in the 21st century.

It's not about whether one film is perfect, rather that we just need WAY MORE entertaining climate content from Hollywood – that helps us frame the problem and see the solutions. Specifically, way more climate-themed media that involves humor. #DontLookUp https://t.co/CHMaeyZy63
