People Can't Get Over New Pictures Of Margot Robbie And Ryan Gosling As Rodeo Barbie and Ken

Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are bringing Barbie and Ken to life! The two were spotted wearing Western-themed outfits, with both Ryan, 41, and Margot, 31, having matching white cowboy hats and pink neckerchiefs on in new images. Barbie will be directed by Greta Gerwig and written by the Lady Bird director along with filmmaker Noah Baumbach. Variety reports the supporting cast includes the likes of America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Issa Rae, Michael Cera, and more. The film has created so much buzz and is considered to be one of the most anticipated movies of 2023.

There are rumors that the movie may have multiple versions of the iconic characters played by other members of the star-studded cast. Perhaps the cowboy-esque outfits imply that Gerwig is featuring different iterations of Barbie. The New York Times reporter Kyle Buchanan tweeted: I am hearing incredible BARBIE goss at Cannes. For one, I'm hearing that Ryan Gosling is not the only Ken in the BARBIE film. Simu Liu and Ncuti Gatwa also play Ken. And, by the same token, Margot Robbie is not the film's only Barbie. Issa Rae and Hari Nef play different Barbies.

So what is the plot of the film? No details have been revealed but the cast seems super excited about what is yet to come. Shang-Chi actor Liu described the upcoming film to GQ UK  as “wild” and “incredibly unique,” adding, “I wish I could just show you what we do day-to-day because it’s crazy.” The actor said he’s been in dance rehearsals aplenty for the movie which isn't a musical. Barbie herself, Margot Robbie, told the Hollywood Reporter, "Whatever you’re thinking, we’re going to give you something totally different — the thing you didn’t know you wanted."

Fans are also freaking out over the latest images of Gosling and Robbie in their rodeo outfits. One Twitter user wrote: every barbie movie update has me clutching my pearls. Another added: I have so much excitement for the barbie movie for no reason. A third joked: I’m not sorry for the person i will become when the barbie movie comes out. Many agreed that Robbie and Gosling who have been cast as Ken and Barbie so far have been perfectly cast. One used said: Ryan Gosling as Ken in the new Barbie film is a masterstroke of casting And Margot Robbie in the lead role is just as perfect.
