Penelope Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

Fans of the series are asking if a Season 2 has been confirmed with a release date or timeline and is on the horizon after Penelope’s recent Netflix release. The plot of Mel Eslyn and Mark Duplass’s Penelope centers on the titular heroine, who, uncertain of her role in the world, sets off on a quest for self-awareness in the isolated Pacific Northwest.

Here’s everything we know so far.

Is Penelope Returning With Season 2?

Before determining whether or not to renew Penelope for Season 2, Netflix and the show’s creator, Mark Duplass, are probably still observing how Penelope does on the streaming service. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, in May 2024, a few months before the premiere of Season 1, Duplass affirmed his plan to wait it out.

“Ideally, we see how we do on Netflix. In the event that it’s a blowout success, you might see a bigger scope for season two,” Duplass said. “In the event that it’s a moderate success, we might write it for a smaller scope, but at least we’re in the driver’s seat now as to whether we get to keep making this show.”

In a another interview with IndieWire, Duplass did admit that the likelihood of Season 2 airing would decrease if Netflix lost money on Penelope. “I would be worried they would lose money on it, it gives us a smaller chance to break out in Season 2 if it doesn’t hit,” he said.

Who’s In The Cast Of Penelope?

Megan Stott, Krisha Fairchild, Amber Wolfe Wollam, Cynthia Geary, Austin Abrams, Barry O’Neil, Eddie Lee Wollrabe, Butch Stevenson, and Finley Sackville-West are the primary cast members of Penelope.
