Holly and Gerry were happily married to each other shortly before Gerry was diagnosed with a fatal disease. As Holly grieves his death, she starts receiving letters from her deceased husband. The letter helps her make a few decisions that will help her start a fresh life. P.S. I Love You did receive some tepid reviews, but all in all, the movie was a substantial hit, grossing $156 million.

The sequel will be adapted from Cecelia's novel called Postscript. The movie is set seven years later when Holly is asked to share the story of her late husband's idea of a letter hunt on a podcast. The idea of the podcast is to inspire others to leave notes for their loved ones following their deaths. However, Holly is unsure if she really wants to revisit the hard times. Ahern, in an interview, said, "[It] is the PS to my PS, and while it is a sequel, it is also a story that stands about living a purposeful life in the face of illness, grief, and loss. I hope that new readers and PS, I Love You fans alike will embrace Holly’s new journey."

This is what Cecelia Ahern had to say about the project

A deeply emotional project for me, Postscript is the PS to my PS and while it is a sequel, it is also a story that stands alone about living a purposeful life in the face of illness, grief and loss. I hope that new readers and PS, I Love You fans alike will embrace Holly’s new journey.

No cast has been set for the follow-up feature

There is no cast set as of now. However, watch this space, as we will make sure to give updates when they arrive. Our guess says that we will see the OGs, Hillary Swank and Gerrard Butler, return in some way!
