Outlast is officially returning for a third season, which is exciting news for fans of the great outdoors, fierce competition, and handcrafted fish traps.
In Outlast, which is produced by Aggregate Films and BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions, 16 survivalists are dropped in the most remote areas of the wilderness. Each of them has a gripping tale about why they should win the $1 million prize. And that’s where the intriguing part begins: The Outlast hopefuls must divide into teams of four and, well, outlast the others using just a few survival items and a shelter they have built together, unlike most survival shows that ask participants to do it alone. Although competitors are free to switch teams at any moment, they must be a member of a winning team. The winning team gets a portion of the money. The result is strategic survival chaos.
Showrunner Mike Odair, Aggregate Films’ Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan, and Emma Ho, and BBC Studios’ Ryan O’Dowd and Krystal Whitney are producing Outlast Season 3.
