OreGairu Season 4: Everything We Know So Far

All the anime fans expecting a new season of OreGairu may have already accepted the fact there won’t be one after realizing that all the available material in the light novel has been adapted into the show, Anime Next Season reported. The anime series OreGairu, also known as Yahari Ore no Seishun Rabukome wa Machigatteiru in Japanese, is based on a successful light novel of the same name that was first published in 2011. In English, it can be translated as ‘My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected’. The light novel series is written by Wataru Watari and illustrated by Ponkan8

OreGairu is a romantic comedy and generally falls in the genre- slice of life. It incorporates elements of emotionality, romance, and drama to tell an interesting ensemble story. The protagonist, Hachiman Hikigaya, is an apathetic high school student with narcissistic and semi-nihilistic tendencies. He firmly believes that joyful youth is nothing but a farce, and everyone who says otherwise is just lying to themselves.

While many fans accept that the show must come to an end, some still speculate that there could be a return for this show because it is so popular with audiences. Some even theorized what the next season would entail. Since the last season of OreGairu showed the prom preparations, the celebrations of friendship, and the final days of high school, many suspect that the next season might show their lives after graduating.

Fans of this anime don’t have to put away their screens just yet though, considering the anime is a really popular adaptation, the bonus novels get adapted into Original Video Animations (OVAs). Till now, there have been two OVAs occurring after each 13-episode season. While the last season did only have 12 episodes, there will still be an OVA coming soon. The release date of this hasn’t been announced yet and could be expected later this year or early next year.

The cast for this show includes Takuya Eguchi (Hachiman) from Spy x Family, Ayane Sakura (Iroha) from Boku no Hero Academia, Nao Touyama (Yui Yuigahama) from Nisekoi, Saori Hayami (Yukino) from Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei, Aoi Yuuki (Komachi) from Isekai Quartet, Ryouka Yuzuki (Shizuka) from Kill la Kill and Mikako Komatsu (Saika) from Jujutsu Kaisen

The anime is helmed by directors Kei Oikawa and Ai Yoshimura, script and screenplays written by Shoutarou Suga and Keiichirou Oochi, character designs done by Yuuichi Tanaka and Yuu Shindou, and supported by the studios Feel and Brain’s Base.

Seasons 1 and 2 of OreGairu are currently available to watch.
