It has only been a couple of years since Netflix started experimenting with family house sitcoms starting with series like ‘Fuller House’, a sequel to the ‘TGIF’ show ‘Full House’.
The streaming giant, Netflix produced an American web series called 'No Good Nick' that won thousands of hearts and became an instant favorite. The web series is created by regular Hollywood screenplay-wright David H. Steinberg and Keetgi Kogan. The details of the series came out for the first time on September 21, 2018. It was then when Netflix announced that they are working on a new comedy series that will have 20 episodes and will be directed by Andy Fickman. The main photography of the series already started when the announcement was made for the first time about the comedy show.
The first season aired on April 15, 2019, and it revolves around 13-year-old Nicole who is also known as Nick. She bumps into a regular American family, where she claims to be a distant relative. The first promotional poster of the series came out on March 6th this year. Looking at the early works of David H. Steinberg, where fans have seen his creativity in the popular animated American sitcom 'The Simpsons', and commercially viable screenplays like ‘American Pie 2’, ‘Slackers’, ‘National Lampoon’s Barely Legal’, ‘American Pie Presents: The Book of Love’, it wouldn't be a concern of risking anything at all, as they can for sure count on David. Let's see what do we know about the second part of 'No Good Nick'.
The first season of 'No Good Nick' aired on April 15, 2019, on Netflix. It has only been a couple of years since Netflix started experimenting with family house sitcoms starting with series like ‘Fuller House’, a sequel to the ‘TGIF’ show ‘Full House’. 'No Good Nick' comes under the same genre with the familiar faces of Melissa Joan Hart, star of the 'TGIF' show ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’, and Sean Austin of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and more recently ‘Stranger Things’ fame, cast as its lead pair. We can expect season 2 of 'No Good Nick' to come sometime in April 2020, as no official announcement has been made regarding the date. However, looking at the success of all David's work, it will be surprising if the show does not get a renewal.
This fall. We just finished shooting episode 20 last week!— David H. Steinberg (@DavidHSteinberg) April 21, 2019
Also, TV Line reported that Netflix has asked for 20 episodes of this sitcom and David confirmed on Twitter by writing, "We just finished shooting episode 20 last week!" And the fact that only 10 episodes were released on April 15, we are positive for the rest to come on Netflix sometime in fall 2019.
In season 2 of 'No Good Nick,' the main cast is expected to return. The series wouldn't have the same essence without the title character of Nicole, AKA Nick which is played by Siena Agudong. The first season saw Nick trying to invade the Thompson family, who are all expected to return for season 2. This means that Liz, played by Melissa Joan Hart, Ed, played by Sean Astin, Jeremy, played Kalama Epstein and Molly Thompson, played by Lauren Lindsay Donzis are most likely expected to return for season two.
Kyla-Drew as Becky, Sanai Victoria as Tamika, Tiana Le as Xuan, Eddie McClintock as Tony, Molly Hagan as Dorothy, Ted McGinley as Sam, Alex Poncio as Jim, Gus Kamp as Eric, Marco Sanchez as Eduardo, Lori Mae Hernandez as Riley, and Josie Totah as Lisa Haddad, reportedly will return as well.
Nothing official has been announced by the creative team in terms of the second installment's storyline, but if we look at the first season's finale, then we can expect the series to continue the plot of the first series, which saw Nick trying hard to take revenge on the Thompsons, who she believed ruined her life. If not this, then Netflix might take the anthology series route to see her trying to pull off another con in season 2.
"There are some things that are going to come up in Nick's way that will be major obstacles for her," Siena Agudong, 14, said in an interview with HollywoodLife. "There's so much pressure on Nick from so many sources, and she doesn't know what's true anymore. Everything she used to rely on is gone now, and she's freaking out now," she added.
Siena Agudong went ahead to say that there are higher stakes going into the second part of No Good Nick. "They put so much pressure on her and continue to build. That balance of her father and the Thompsons plays a role in Part 2. There's a lot of struggle. There are so many different things that she needs to consider," she explained.
Season 1 ✔️ Consensus: No Good Nick feels like Alexa & Katie and The Fosters had a baby. Impressed with the writers for tackling so many difficult topics and making all the characters so layered. It’s a weird little show and I think I love it. Let’s hope we get a season 2. 🤞🏻— Taylor Gates (@Elphaba_Anne) April 20, 2019
I have now finished all ten episodes of NO GOOD NICK and I’m hooked. This show is a lot of things, but none of them boring. I hope Part 2 will lean more into the darker toned aspects which seems to be what they’re hinting at. Again: this show is WILD. pic.twitter.com/zNP2CgWybJ— Courtney Howard (@Lulamaybelle) April 16, 2019
