The first season of No Good Deed debuted on December 12, 2024. Ray Romano, Luke Wilson, Teyonah Parris, Linda Cardellini, and Lisa Kudrow are all part of the outstanding ensemble cast. The plot centers on several couples vying for a highly desirable piece of real estate.
Season 1 of the show received the coveted Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, demonstrating the series’ good reception. The series’ twists and turns, as well as the outstanding performances by its well-known cast, were widely lauded. But can we expect more? Here’s everything we know so far.
Will No Good Deed Return With Season 2?
Although there are several things to take into account, we’re regrettably leaning toward a potential cancellation based on the show’s performance in Netflix’s top 10 rankings after a full month.
Historically, Netflix has placed less importance on viewership and been more forgiving when it comes to renewing comedy series than written dramas. Examples include Mo and The Vince Staples Show, which were renewed despite not ranking in Netflix’s top 10. In a similar vein, despite declining viewership, Survival of the Thickest and The Upshaws have been renewed, probably due in part to their decreased budgets. It’s unclear if No Good Deed is covered by this cost-effective feature.
Liz Feldman was hopeful that the show would be renewed in interviews with Hollywood Trades. According to Variety, Feldman has already thought about the approach for a second season. Feldman shared, “I’ll just say that I always had a Season 2 in mind, and I do think that a show like this has legs if it is done cleverly. I’m very excited to sit down and talk to Netflix about what those plans are. They know a little bit, but I do think that this show has some life left to live, and I really hope that we get to see it through.”
What Could Happen In No Good Deed Season 2?
Although the primary plot thread was neatly resolved in season 1, there are undoubtedly more stories to tell and secrets to discover in this series.
Jacob’s death, which was first thought to have been the consequence of a poorly executed robbery, was revealed at the end of Season 1. It turns out that he got into a deadly fight with Margo, his neighbor, who shot him in private. Emily, Jacob’s sister, thought she was to blame, but the truth reveals Jacob to be the local burglar involved in an extramarital affair with Margo. In the end, Margo took action to safeguard her husband’s fortune. By the end, Margo has been arrested, justice has been done, and the Morgan family is starting to move on and heal.
The Morgans and other characters are given fresh starts in the conclusion. The Morgans relocate to a new house after being released from grief and guilt. The Morgans’ old home is taken over by Sarah and Leslie, who have manipulative undertones, while Mikey makes amends with his estranged son. In the meantime, Dennis and Carla, who now own Margo’s destroyed mansion, face the unspoken issues in their own relationship.
As Beef introduces new characters for its second season, fans think that No Good Deed might follow an anthology structure for season 2, focusing on new couples fighting over a different property.
