Night Monkey Trailer: Who Is This European Superhero That Has Everyone Talking

Between The Avengers and Justice League, there are tons of superhero on the big screen, we have been hearing about a new superhero called the Night Monkey and here is everything you need to know about it.

In the world of The Avengers and Justice League, there are a lot of other superheroes that get lost in translation. But lately, we’ve been hearing about a new superhero on the scene on the other side of the globe and looks like he is pretty amazing! Night Monkey is a new European superhero who is dressed in all black and is seen stealthily leaping through the streets, and helping citizens deal with some very mystifying and dangerous threats. You can see him in action in the trailer here below.

As you can see from the trailer, it has been made clear that the night belongs to the monkey and if you are thinking that he looks pretty similar to Spiderman, then you are right! For the unaware, the trailer is a fun joke inspired by a gag in the latest Spider-Man film, Far From Home. The movie takes Peter Parker out of the US to Europe for a school holiday and all our friendly neighborhood Spiderman wants is to relax with his friends and chat up MJ.

But, to his surprise, Nick Fury has some other plans for him and he needs Peter in order to fight the raging threat of Elementals alongside powerful newcomer Mysterio. But, there are only a handful of people who know about Peter's secret including his friend Ned. In order to protect his best friend's identity after he puts on his new black suit, Ned comes up with an ingenious moniker, saying it is Night Monkey, not Spiderman. But, to his surprise, the name catches on and the local media started circulating reports of Night Monkey’s heroics.

It is one of the funny but brilliant films and easily sits beside one of the best Spiderman movies to date. Emotional, exhilarating and mischievously creative as Mysterio’s true nature becomes apparent. But, as Spidey has moved out of the MCU, people are already wondering how the movie is going to continue.

Sony and Disney came to an agreement before Captain America: Civil War that allowed for the friendly neighborhood hero to appear in MCU movies. But, that partnership came to an end when Disney started pushing Sony for a higher share of profits and after the deal broke, Spiderman will now star in exclusively Sony-led adventures, giving way to the possibility of an appearance in future Venom films.

The dissolution of the agreement comes after Spider-Man: Far From Home became Sony’s most successful release at the global box office, raking in more than $1.1 billion. After news broke of Spidey parting ways from the MCU, Sony posted a statement, saying, "Much of today’s news about Spider-Man has mischaracterized recent discussions about Kevin Feige’s involvement in the franchise. We are disappointed, but respect Disney’s decision not to have him continue as a lead producer of our next live-action Spider-Man film. We hope this might change in the future, but understand that the many new responsibilities that Disney has given him – including all their newly added Marvel properties – do not allow time for him to work on IP they do not own. Kevin is terrific and we are grateful for his help and guidance and appreciate the path he has helped put us on, which we will continue."

However, if Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse is anything to go by, Marvel isn’t necessarily the key to the friendly neighborhood hero’s success. As long as Sony remembers that with great power comes great responsibility, they will be golden.
