Nicolas Cage Cast As Joe Exotic in New Tiger King Series And Fans Are Losing It

Nicolas Cage is set to have his television debut as he plays Joe Exotic in a new Tiger King series and fans are so excited!

Joe Exotic and Nicolas Cage

Fans of Nicolas Cage are going crazy after it was announced that he will be playing Joe Exotic in his Television debut for a new Tiger King series.

People think that Cage is the perfect choice to play the role of the unconventional zoo owner and others are already waiting for Cage to break the internet as soon as the Cage-series hits the market.

Joe Exotic became a sensation because of his charismatic blend of cunning and cuddly personality. He likes to describe himself as a “gay, gun-toting cowboy with a mullet,”. Joe Exotic built his wild animal kingdom where he kept his rare collection of lion-tiger hybrids among other exotic animals. Things started to get messier when he was caught in a murder-for-hire scheme. Fans can't wait to see Cage portray this eccentric character.

Cage' s Tiger King series will be based on Texas Monthly article “Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild,” by Leif Reigstad. The story centers around Joe Schreibvogel, a.k.a Joe Exotic, fighting to keep his park. It will also tackle the story of how the character of Joe Exotic came to life and how Joe lost himself to the character he created.

The 56-year-old Cage was previously known for his amazing performance in films like Leaving Las Vegas, The Rock, and Lord of War. The Tiger King series serves as Cage's first regular television role. Fans can't wait to see his acting skills on the small screen.

Aside from acting, Cage will also executive produce the series via Saturn films while American Vandal showrunner Dan Lagana will be writing the script. The first eight episodes will be produced by Imagine Television Studios and CBS Television Studios.

There is no release date yet for the series, but Variety says that it will be announced in the upcoming days. There are several projects inspired by the wild story of Joe Exotic and Cage's series is just one of them. Cage's series is the second announced scripted series for Tiger King. The first one was announced late last year and Kate McKinnon is supposed to play the role of Carol Baskin. However, the first project is still reportedly looking for a writer.
