A Quiet Place is a post-apocalyptic horror film that was released in 2018. It follows the story of a father and a mother who struggle to survive and raise their children in a world inhabited by blind monsters with an acute sense of hearing. It stars The Office's John Krasinski who also directed the series, Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada), along with Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe as their kids. The film was a box office hit along with the sequel which was released in 2021.

A Quiet Place Spinoff Film

A spin-off film was announced in November 2020 with the creators preparing to build a potential Quiet Place universe, very much like the MCU or The Conjuring series, that the studio can build on for years to come. At the CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Paramount Pictures revealed the future plans of the franchise. The title of the next installment in the series as well as what we can expect was revealed.

The next film is set to be a prequel to the first movie. The title will be A Quiet Place: Day One, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. The movie, as the title suggests, will take the story back to Day One of how the events of the first two movies came to be. We will get more answers about the alien creatures that have taken over the earth. In the second installment, we even see a giant object falling from the sky, that brought the ferocious monsters that hunt by sound. This clip was used to give us a taste of what is to come. There is still a third installment that will follow the events of the second film that is slated for release in 2025.

This exciting announcement was made during a sizzle reel at Paramount's CinemaCon panel. Michael Sarnoski (Pig) is set to direct the film and will be replacing Jeff Nichols (Midnight Special) who was previously attached to the project. Day One is set to release in 2023. Additionally, there is also the first-ever video game adaptation of the films coming out this year. Hervé Sliwa, Creative Director at iLLOGIKA, the company developing the game stated: “The A Quiet Place video game will let fans experience the tension of the films with a level of immersion they’ve never felt before.”

Previously, Krasinski had teased about the future Quiet Place projects stating, "A lot of the things I had thought were interesting to think about on Part I ended up being in the sequel. Any time I had ideas like that, I wrote them down in case there ever is a Part III or a third one. So I would be able to reference some of these things if there is a Part III." He added, "And we even went so far as to put in a couple of Easter eggs so that if I did do a third one, they would connect back to the second one."
