For the fourth consecutive year, New York City topped Forbes’ 2025 billionaires list with 123 residents with a combined net worth of around $759 billion.
That local club is part of a global group of just over 3,000 billionaires whose combined wealth reached a record $16.1 trillion. After New York is runners-up London (71) Hong Kong (72) and Moscow (90).
Steve Ells, the creator of Chipotle, and sitcom icon Jerry Seinfeld, who is currently valued at about $1.1 billion, were among the 15 newcomers that joined the Manhattan money ranks. Finance, real estate, and fashion account for the majority of the city’s wealth, with titans like Julia Koch ($74.2 billion) and Michael Bloomberg ($105 billion).
