'New World' is an upcoming MMO game and is Amazon's latest attempt to carve its name into the gaming world.

The tech giant has been having a rough time creating a hit game for PC, with competitive shooter 'Crucible' and multiplayer brawler 'Breakaway' both canceled.

Now the company might just found their biggest shot through 'New World'. The MMO game looks promising with its sensible premise, 50v50 PvP wars, commendable graphics, and the tried and tested MMO techniques questing, leveling, and crafting all present.

Here we try to answer all your questions about the game.

'New World' Release Date: When Will 'New World' Release?

Update as of March 14, 2021: New World will release On August 31, 2021.

The game is previously scheduled for a Spring of 2021 release. Amazon was supposed to launch the game in May and then August of 2020, but the beta test didn't live up to the developer's satisfaction.

"We want to ensure that the most dedicated players have plenty of middle and endgame experiences as they venture through Aeternum," studio director Rich Lawrence wrote. "We want our players to feel completely immersed in the game, and know that our studio stands for quality and lasting gameplay you can trust—and that means added time to get things where we want them before we fully release."

In a more recent Dev Update on their website, New World announced that they are now planning to release the game on August 31, 2021.

"We’ve been hard at work on compelling end-game features we believe are important to include at launch. These features won’t be ready for the Spring timeframe that we had communicated. With that in mind, we will release New World on August 31, 2021. "

'New World' Plot: What Is The Game Story About?

'New World' brings us to Aeternum, a supernatural frontier that contains a substance called Azoth, which many believes to be the source of eternal life. However, Azoth can either empower or corrupt a person.

The place is full of magic and monsters. There are ruins left behind by an ancient civilization, a horde of living dead, natural creatures affected by Azoth's magic, corrupted settlers, and other beasts to fight.

Do We Need A Subscription To Play 'New World'?

You don't need a subscription to play the game.

You only need to make a one-time purchase of $39.99 for the standard edition, but Amazon may introduce expansions or other things to spend money on in the future.

When asked if we can purchase in-game items with real money, Amazon answered that "players will be able to purchase optional in-game items."

How Many Players Can The 'New World' Server Accommodate At A Time?

The server can accommodate "over 1,000" players at a time, Amazon says.

How Does Amazon's MMO 'New World' Work?

The game contains a PvP territory control element, but it isn't a wholly player-driven sandbox. You can choose to spend all of your time killing monsters, leveling up, and finding or crafting new gear.

You may also choose to group up with other players to take down a boss, attack other territories, or join world events.

To fight other players in the open world, you must turn on your PvP flag once you join one of the world's three factions. Joining PVP will earn you additional experience points for everything you do. If you get killed by a player from another faction, you will only lose some equipment durability.

How Do We Control Territories In 'New World'?

'New World' is divided into territories, most of which contain one settlement and one fort.

You can team up with your friends to create a guild with 50 players to take over and govern other territories.

To that, you must be familiar with the premise of 'New World' Territories. Please bear in mind that Amazon might introduce some tweaks in the future and that the following features we will discuss are only accurate as of this writing.

Forts are what your guild needs to capture to take control of a territory, while settlements are places where a territory's crafting stations and player housing are located.

Once your guild takes control of a territory, you can set its tax rate and organize public projects, such as improvements to the territory's fort or settlement.

If you want to make your guild popular, you have to upgrade the settlement's crafting stations so that players can create stronger gear. You also need to upgrade the fort defenses, in case of another attack.

What Happens When Other Guilds/ Companies Want To Attack Your Territory?

If another company/ guild wants to take control of your territory, they must declare war, and a battle will be scheduled according to your preference since you are the defender. This means that other guilds can not attack you while you are asleep.

Both guilds must have an army of 50 (they don't all have to be company members) to fight for them.

During the war, the attackers must capture control points around the fort, gain entry through the doors, and capture a central point. You must utilize your siege weapons, defensive turrets, explosive barrels, and other munitions in the war.

If your attackers win, they will take control of your territory and they will have to start rebuilding what was damaged during the war.

Why Should You Buy Houses In 'New World'?

The houses, which you can buy in settlements, can be used as fast travel points.

You can use your house to act as a fast travel point to a settlement with high tier crafting equipment. This will be useful to form a company/ guild to take over other territories, or improve a territory—without taxing you at a ridiculous rate.

You can start buying a house at level 20, buy a second house at level 40, and the third one at level 60. Buying three houses allows you to quickly fast travel between three settlements.

'New World' Weapons, Levelling, And Combat Works

Just like a standard MMO, 'New World' has a bunch of weapons and skills to master.

A short video from the developer's diary has shown us some of the weapons we could use, including swords, hatchets, spears, war hammers, bows, and rifles. Amazon added rapiers to its list of weapons too.

As you use different weapon types, you'll also gain proficiency with them independent of leveling. You can unlock the mastery tree to gain more active and passive skills and master every weapon type.

There are also crafting skills yet to be explored, and trading posts to sell your materials and items in the game too. Just like most MMO games, rarer materials can be obtained in the more dangerous parts of the island.
