League Of Legends Game Coming To Netflix App

It is a rhythm-based game where you will play as Ziggs to "build the greatest bomb the world has ever seen!"

League of Legends

The League of Legends (LoL) Netflix adaptation, Arcane, has become a huge hit. Not only did it do well but it also became the highest-rated Netflix original series ever, as per Forbes, with a 98% viewer score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 9.4/10 rating on IMDB.

The company behind LoL, Riot Games, has announced yet another spin-off. It has now announced a new rhythm-based game called Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story which will be coming soon to the Netflix Games platform. A tweet from Netflix Geeked stated: "Make Musical Mayhem with the Dean of Demolitions." And the character Ziggs even says, in the one and a half minute trailer that "this isn't just about making a bunch of noise. This is about music!"

As per the Hextech Mayhem website, it states: "In this fast-paced rhythm runner, every action has an explosive reaction and no amount of mayhem is too much. Take on the role of yordle and Hexplosives expert Ziggs as you rampage through the neighborhoods of Piltover." It also explained the game overview: "Bomb, bounce, and bop to the beat of the music to avoid obstacles, disarm enemies, and light fuses to achieve maximum chaos. Cause musical mayhem while outrunning no-fun-allowed Heimerdinger in your quest to build the greatest bomb the world has ever seen!"

The game will be arriving on Nintendo Switch as well as PC on November 16, 2021. Choice Provisions, which is also the studio behind the Runner series, is developing Hextech Mayhem, as per Game Informer. Riot Games seems to be taking inspiration from Nintendo to allow third-party developers to create games set in the world they created. This is a part of Riot’s own in-house publisher, Riot Forge, which is dedicated to releasing games set in the LoL universe, “all developed by other, non-Riot studios.” The latest game, Hextech Mayhem hails from Riot Forge, too.

Netflix entered the gaming market last week with the launch of a collection of games available for no additional cost for its Android mobile app users worldwide. What it means for Hextech Mayhem to be available on Netflix Games is that a Netflix membership is your All-Access Pass. An announcement made by the streaming site, stated: "there’s no ads, no additional fees, and no in-app purchases."

Currently, users can play five mobile games: Stranger Things: 1984 (BonusXP), Stranger Things 3: The Game (BonusXP), Shooting Hoops (Frosty Pop), Card Blast (Amuzo & Rogue Games), and Teeter Up (Frosty Pop). "Whether you’re craving a casual game you can start from scratch or an immersive experience that lets you dig deeper into your favorite stories, we want to begin to build a library of games that offers something for everyone," the press release stated. "We’re in the early days of creating a great gaming experience, and we’re excited to take you on this journey with us."
