Netflix users are so engrossed in a recently released Spanish drama that they are requesting “more episodes.”
The TV show, which stars Clara Galle, Nira Osahia, and Agustín Della Corte, has garnered a lot of attention on Netflix due to some of its explicit scenes.
It’s not the only one either, as one film that’s ’80 per cent s%x’ has also left subscribers a bit hot under the collar, too.
However, this series might be a serious candidate for the s%xiest show you’ll see all year, given that “everyone just f**king” in the first episode alone.
A doping scandal threatens to reveal everyone’s desire to be the best of the best at the fictional Pirineos Center of High Performance, a training facility for young athletes in Spain, where the episode debuted on Netflix on June 20.
Viewers were raving about Olympo on the Netflix Bangers Facebook group. One person commented, “I wish there were more episodes it was good,” while another just wrote, “Love it.”
“Spain really does make the best “teen drama” shows,” wrote another Reddit user. And another reviewer on IMDb said: “This show did SUCH a good job showing how fragile and brutal sports can be-not just in artistic/synchronized swimming (which btw I think is the hardest and most underrated sport ever), but in rugby, cycling, athletics, literally everything.”
The inclusion of LGBTQ+ storylines, especially those involving Roque (Agustin Della Corte) and two of his teammates, was another aspect that received a lot of appreciation. One commenter expressed admiration for Netflix’s practice of “generally include gay storylines in most of their productions”.
For some, though, the graphic s%x scenes have been a little too much.
The series is “way too intense,” according to one Twitter user, while another commented: “Episode 1 of #OlympoNetflix and everyone is just f.”
Although some have demanded more, the Spanish drama has received mixed reviews from critics, who mostly focused on its plot and characters, which some felt “unlikeable that it becomes hard to root for them,” according to TV Fanatics.
Others, meanwhile, were all praise for Olympo. According to Samuel R. Murrian of Collider, “Netflix’s young adult sports drama series Olympo is an unexpected, highly bingeable summer treat that’s likely to appeal to a wide audience, even those who might not consider themselves fans of the sports genre.”
As for its ‘unlikeable’ characters, Archi Sengupta from LeisureByte.com argues that is its appeal, adding: “Olympo’s problem is all of the people are terrible and thoroughly unlikeable. But I’d be lying if I said that it’s not bingeable.”
Olympo is currently available for streaming on Netflix, so you can decide for yourself.
