The InBetween is a supernatural drama television series created by Moira Kirland. The show premiered on NBC in May 2019 and aired until August 2019. The show followed Cassie Bedford (Harriet Dyer), who can see and communicate with ghosts. She uses this ability of hers to help these spirits. Her foster father, Detective Tom Hackett, is aware of her abilities. However, his new partner, a former FBI agent named Damien Asante, is skeptical about Cassie's ability. But he becomes a believer when her visions start to help them solve cases.

The show had one season with ten episodes. It was seemingly canceled after one season. The first season averaged a 0.40 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.57 million viewers. The InBetween ranked in last place in the demo of all the network’s seven summer series at the time. It was also nearly last place in viewers. This could have contributed to the show's cancellation after its first season.
NBC canceled the show due to its low performance. It is very unlikely that the show will be coming back. It has already been three years since the first season came to an end as well.
The official synopsis reads: "Seattle medium Cassie Bedford struggles with a gift that sometimes feels like a curse. Haunted by the dead in search of justice, Cassie is called upon to help these unsettled souls find peace. When Tom Hackett, her father, and a veteran police detective, comes across a particularly gruesome murder, Cassie is able to provide some insight based on her dark and haunting visions, and she becomes Seattle P.D.'s clandestine partner. She must also convince Hackett's skeptical new partner, former FBI agent Damien Asante, that her skills are real -- all while battling her own demons."
Kirland who was behind successful shows like Castle and Madam Secretary, also wrote this suspenseful new character-driven procedural drama.
The series starred Harriet Dyer as Cassie Bedford, Justin Cornwell as Damien Asante, Anne-Marie Johnson as Lieutenant Swanstrom, Cindy Luna as Detective Marina Salinas, Chad James Buchanan as Will, and Paul Blackthorne as Tom Hackett.
Kirland also served as executive producer along with David Heyman, Nancy Cotton, and Matthew Gross. Charlotte Sieling served as executive producer and also directed the pilot of the show.
