"Narco-Saints," despite its controversies, rose to the top of the Netflix Global Charts and became one of the most watched South Korean series on the online streaming platform.
Korean dramas are on everyone's watch list these days and Netflix has been giving them a lot of space. In a similar way, a Korean drama titled Narco-Saints rose to the top on Netflix Global Charts and became one of the most-watched South Korean series on the online streaming platform.
Narco-Saints is a South Korean crime-thriller series written and directed by Yoon Jong Bin, starring Squid Game actor Park Hea Soo. Based on true events, Narco-Saints takes place in South America, where a drug lord operating in the country has grabbed the attention of the National Intelligence Service. The intelligence service enlists the help of an ordinary entrepreneur who set his sights on making his fortune in Suriname, only to fall knee-deep into the world of drug crime.

As of now, no official statement has been released by the streamer regarding the announcement of season 2. At the time of writing Netflix has not made a decision on the future of Narco Saints. We expect this will take several weeks as Netflix monitors the performance of the series.
The renewal of a series depends on many things but mainly:
Total hours viewed (millions)
Time spent in the global top ten (days/weeks)
Cost of a second season
Now Yoo Yeonseok part. He told that during the day he filmed Suriname/Narco Saints in Jeju Island and immediately took a flight to Seoul and filmed Hospital Playlist in the evening. From David Julio Park to Ahn Jeongwon back and forth😮💨

In spite of its high budget of a whopping 35 billion KRW, director Yoon Jong Bin admits that creating the show was not a walk in the park. During its filming, the threatening coronavirus broke out which suspended all overseas filming for "Narco-Saints." "The work was ruined and it was almost a hopeless case," the director admitted. "Fortunately, there was a place in Jeju that gave off South American vibes." Indeed, where there's a will, there's a way. According to the director, everything including the stress and fatigue were worth it, especially now that "Narco-Saints" is gaining much attention.
When asked whether there will be a new season for "Narco-Saints," director Yoon Jong Bin expressed his honest thoughts that disappointed fans. "Some viewers are speculating that there is a high chance for Season 2, but I don't have that in mind," the director said matter-of-factly. Yoon Jong Bin stated that a new season might not be worth the risk, and he would rather spend his time and creativity in curating a new film like the blockbuster works "Alien," "The Witch" and "Emergency Declaration."
