'My Mister' Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

Will Dong-hoo and Ji-an fulfill their promise?

'My Mister' is a heartwarming Korean drama series that aired on tvN from March 21 to May 17, 2018.

Directed by Kim Won-seok, the series is highly-acclaimed and won the Best Drama award during the 55th Baeksang Arts Awards.

'My Mister' follows two people who formed an unexpected meaningful relationship brought by their struggles in life.

Let us find out if 'My Mister' will still return for season 2.

Will There Be 'My Mister' Season 2?

'My Mister' is not renewed for season 2 yet. While we are already used to the fact that most Kdrama series don't get follow-up seasons, 'My Mister' seems to be a different case. 'My Mister' season 1 had an open ending, unlike most K-drama shows that usually wrap the story tightly by the end of the first season.

There is always another chapter to explore if the series gets renewed for another season. Sadly, because K-drama shows very seldom get renewed, it is also possible that the open-ending might remain as it is, forever.

We will discuss this further below.

'My Mister'

What Is The Plot Of 'My Mister' Season 2?

'My Mister' follows the story of Ji-An (IU), a debt-laded young woman, struggling to keep her head above the water while taking care of her deaf and sick grandmother. She works on a temporary job and becomes friends with her equally miserable supervisor, Dong-Hun (Lee Sun-Kyun).

Their circumstance helped them develop a deeper relationship. The series ended with the two at a much better place. In the final scene, the two shake hands and promise to meet again one day. Ji-An has grown more mature and confident. It is easy to see that Dong-Hun is attracted to this new version of Ji-An, while she too clearly has feelings for him.

If the show gets renewed for another season, the new season will likely pick up from that cliffhanging scene. We expect it to continue following Ji-An and Dong-Hun's relationship.

Will they ever fulfill that promise? Only time will tell.

Who Is Cast In 'My Mister' Season 2?

If 'My Mister' gets renewed for another season, we expect our duo to return and continue their story.

Lee Sun-kyun could return as Park Dong-hoon, the stoic structural engineer who admires Lee Ji-an's grit and determination in life. Sun-kyun appeared in another hit K-drama series, the 2007 romantic show 'Coffee Prince.'

Lee Ji-eun (IU) will likely star again as Lee Ji-an, the young woman who gets hired by her boss to find out Park Dong-hoon's weakness but ends up falling in love with him. IU is a singer and actress. She debuted her mini-album 'Lost and Found' at the age of fifteen. IU also starred in the fantasy mystery drama 'Hotel del Luna.'

Is There An Official Trailer For 'My Mister' Season 2?

None so far. We are still waiting for the confirmation of 'My Mister' Season 2. The show finished airing episodes in 2018, so there is a possibility that the second season will never happen anymore. We will leave you with the season one trailer in the meantime, and a promise to update this article once we get a confirmation of 'My Mister' Season 2.

You can still stream the full episodes of 'My Mister' season 1 on Netflix.
