'Ms. Marvel' will play a significant role in the MCU phase 4 narrative. The miniseries is coming to Disney+ in late 2021.
There is a new young superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and she is about to create history as the first Muslim superhero of the MCU.
Her name is Kamala Khan, AKA, Ms. Marvel. She is a new addition to the Marvel comics, but she is already headed to the MCU with her very own Disney+ series coming out soon.
The future of the young superhero in the MCU is bright as she is also set to star alongside Brie Larson in 'The Marvels,' following her Disney+ gig.
‘Ms. Marvel’ will follow the format of other Disney+ shows like 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' and 'WandaVision,' which means that the events of the series will contribute significantly to the overall story of phase 4 of the MCU.
Specifically. 'MsM. arvel' will set up the events of the second Captain Marvel movie, 'The Marvels'.
Here is everything we know.
Initial Release Date: Late 2021
'Ms. Marvel' will start airing episodes in late 2021 on the Disney+ Channel. The exact release date is yet to be announced, but it will likely follow 'Hawkeye' in the line-up.
We already confirmed that the series consists of six episodes. As mentioned, the mini-series is part of phase 4 of MCU and will prepare the story for the 2022 film 'The Marvels,' the sequel to Brie Larson's 2019 superhero film, 'Captain Marvel.'
Production for 'Ms. Marvel' wrapped up on May 11, 2021. Filming was relocated to Thailand from Georgia, U.S. 'Ms. Marvel' managed to complete filming in mid-May 2021, despite new Covid-related restrictions put in place in Thailand in April 2021.

The mini-series will likely be an origin story of 'Ms. Marvel' and will serve as her formal introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kamala Khan is the first Muslim superhero in the MCU. Before gaining superpowers, she is a nerdy Pakistani-American teenager. She is described as a great student and an avid gamer. Kamala loves to write superhero fan fiction, specifically about Captain Marvel. Kamala struggles to fit in both at home and at school. She gains a shape-shifting superpower after she came in contact with Terrigen Mist.
Her power allows her to change appearance at will. However, she needs time to recharge after using her powers. Just like every superhero's starting journey, we are expecting Kamala to have a few run-ins with small-level criminals and bad guys first while she tries to hone and discover the extent of her superpowers. We are also expecting to see how her new superpowers improve or affect her life at home and at school.
Since the mini-series will set up the events for 'The Marvels,' 'Ms. Marvel' will likely mold the young superhero as she finally gets to fight alongside Captain Marvel, the superhero she used to look up to before she finally gets her own powers.
Kamala will appear alongside Brie Larson (playing Carol Danvers) and WandaVision's Teyonah Parris (playing Monica Rambeau) in the upcoming sequel, 'The Marvels.'
Iman Vellani plays the titular role, 'Ms. Marvel' aka Kamala Khan. This is going to be the on-screen debut for the Canadian actress.
Joining her is Matt Lintz as Bruno Carrelli, Kamala's best friend, who will also find out about her superpowers.
Aramis Knight will also be joining as vigilante Kareem, AKA Red Dagger.
For Kamala's family, we have Saagar Shaikh as Amir Khan (Kamala's brother), Zenobia Shroff as Muneeba Khan (Kamala's mother), and Mohan Kapur as Yusuf Khan (Kamala's father).
Laurel Marsden will play a character named Zoe Zimmer, while Rish Shah will star as Kamran. Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azher Usman, Travina Springer, Nimra Bucha, Alyy Khan, and Alysia Reiner were also reported to star in yet-to-be-disclosed roles.
We do not have the official trailer yet, but we do have a sizzle reel that contains a lot of footage from the series, including behind-the-scenes action, interviews, and a deeper look into the character. Take a look at the sizzle reel below. We will update this space once the official trailer is released.
