Every day we recommend three movies that we think you might like. Here are our three for today.
Happy Saturday folks! It's another day of movie recommendations and we haven't yet dropped the ball. Today's films are absolutely stellar. As you know, the selections are based on reviews, personal viewing, and relevance. Some you may have seen already and some may not be your cup of tea but we hope that at least one catches your eye.
This 2010 romantic horror film is a pure gem that I'm sure most of you all have missed. Let Me In follows a bullied 12-year-old boy who develops a friendship with a female child vampire. It was directed by Matt Reeves and stars Kodi Smit-McPhee, Chloë Grace Moretz, Elias Koteas, and Richard Jenkins.
Indie films are often a hit and miss situation. It's either you strike gold or the sewer line. The 2019 French historical drama "Portrait of a Lady on Fire" was pure gold. It follows the forbidden affair between an aristocrat and a painter commissioned to paint her portrait. The film was directed by Céline Sciamma, and stars Noémie Merlant and Adèle Haenel.
I bet most of you all heard of this film before. But how many of you have actually seen it? I would advise you not to let this one slip. The film's plot is very simple. It follows a detective investigating the death of a patriarch of an eccentric, combative family. It was directed by Rian Johnson and stars Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, Toni Collette, Lakeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford, Jaeden Martell, and Christopher Plummer.
