Every day we recommend three movies that we think you might like. Here are our three for today.
Happy Thursday folks! Every single day of the week we put together a list of three movies that we think you'd like. The selections are based on reviews, personal viewing, and relevance. Some you may have seen already and some may not be your cup of tea but we hope that at least one catches your eye.
This 2018 psychological horror is very disturbing so I recommend doing some mental preparations before you go into it. The film follows Jack, a serial killer who committed multiple murders in the U.S. state of Washington over the course of 12 years from the late 1970s to the 1980s. The film was written and directed by Lars von Trier and stars Matt Dillon, Bruno Ganz, Uma Thurman, Siobhan Fallon Hogan, Sofie Gråbøl, Riley Keough, and Jeremy Davies.
The second film on our list could easily be considered a classic. It's a historical-adventure film that follows the Mayan Kingdom during its decline and a young man who is taken on a perilous journey after his village is destroyed. The film was directed by Mel Gibson and stars Rudy Youngblood, Raoul Trujillo, Mayra Sérbulo, Dalia Hernández, Ian Uriel, Gerardo Taracena, Rodolfo Palacios, Bernardo Ruiz Juarez, Ammel Rodrigo Mendoza, Ricardo Diaz Mendoza, and Israel Contreras.
Nothing like a good-old-fashioned Studio Ghilbi film to take you away from the stresses of the world. "Grave of the Fireflies" is among the best. Set in Kobe, Japan, it follows siblings Seita and Setsuko during their desperate struggle to survive the final months of the Second World War. The film was written and directed by Isao Takahata and stars Tsutomu Tatsumi, Ayano Shiraishi, Yoshiko Shinohara, and Akemi Yamaguchi
