The selections are based on reviews, personal viewing, and relevance. Some you may have seen already, and some may not be your cup of tea, but we hope that at least one of these catches your eye. Without any further ado, let's get right into it.
The first film on the list is the 2018 science fiction horror 'Annihilation.' The plot reads:
Lena, a biologist and former soldier, joins a mission to uncover what happened to her husband inside Area X -- a sinister and mysterious phenomenon that is expanding across the American coastline. Once inside, the expedition discovers a world of mutated landscapes and creatures, as dangerous as it is beautiful, that threatens both their lives and their sanity.
Alex Garland directed the film, and it stars Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson, Tuva Novotny, and Oscar Isaac.
The second film on our list is the 2019 crime thriller film 'The Informer.' The plot reads:
Recruited by the FBI, ex-con and former special operations soldier Pete Koslow uses his covert skills to try and take down the General - the most powerful crime boss in New York. When a sting results in the death of an undercover cop, Pete suddenly finds himself caught in the crossfire between the mob and the FBI. Forced to return to prison, Koslow must now come up with a plan to escape from the clutches of the law and the General to save himself and his family.
Andrea Di Stefano directed the film, and it stars Joel Kinnaman, Rosamund Pike, Common, Ana de Armas, and Clive Owen.
The last film on our list is the 2020 American Christmas romantic comedy film 'Operation Christmas Drop,' The plot reads:
Congressional aide Erica Miller lands at a beachside Air Force base, where she clashes with Capt. Andrew Jantz over his pet project -- Operation: Christmas Drop.
Martin Wood directed the film, and it stars Kat Graham and Alexander Ludwig.
