What if Superman was evil? This is what the 2019 superhero horror film 'Brightburn' explores. It follows a couple who find a baby boy in a spaceship and decides to adopt him as their own. But instead of becoming a hero, he becomes something far more sinister? David Yarovesky directed the film, and it stars Elizabeth Banks, David Denman, Jackson A. Dunn, Matt Jones, and Meredith Hagner.
The second film on our list is the 2009 neo-noir superhero film, 'Watchmen.' It follows Rorschach, a vigilante, who sets out to investigate the murder of one of his colleagues. But during his investigation, he discovers something that could completely change the course of history. Zack Snyder directed the film, and it stars an ensemble cast of Malin Åkerman, Billy Crudup, Matthew Goode, Carla Gugino, Jackie Earle Haley, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Patrick Wilson.
The last film on our list is the 2017 Japanese animated romance film 'Fireworks.' It follows a girl named Nazuna, who decides to run away from home with Norimichi, who is infatuated with her. But things don't go according to plan. Norimichi then discovers a magical ball that has the power to manipulate time and give them a second chance, but it only brings more complications. Akiyuki Shinbo directed the film, and it stars Suzu Hirose, Masaki Suda, Mamoru Miyano, and Takako Matsu.
