Mortel is a French supernatural television series, meaning “deadly” or “mortal” in French. The series follows the story of three teenagers, two of whom have acquired superpowers after making a deal with a supernatural being to solve a murder.
The first season of the show was released in 2019 and received mixed reviews at the time. Critics praised the storytelling and plot twists, which had the audience hooked. It was even considered one of the best French shows on Netflix and was renewed for a second season. As for the future of the show, here’s what you need to know:
Will There Be Season 3 Of Mortel?
So far, there has been no word from Netflix regarding the show coming back. It may have been a silent cancellation but there is a chance that the fans could demand a third season.
The second season of the show premiered in July 2021. Both the first and second seasons had six episodes each. In the second season, Obé, the voodoo god who gave them their superpowers, returns. But he is back in a startling new form and begins to raise an army of followers at the school. Sofiane, Victor, and Luisa race to avert the inevitable disaster.
What Will The Plot Of Mortel Season 3 Be?
(Warning! Spoilers ahead!) The teens manage to defeat Obé, and as they take a breather, Reda’s power starts acting strange and leads them to Audrey’s burial site. Victor leans down to touch the ground and hears something strange. He concludes that it is a baby, much to everyone’s shock. This could serve as the premise for the next season if it gets renewed.
The baby could mean that a past character is coming back in the form of a baby. Whether it is Obé or Audrey, we will have to wait and see if there is a third season.
Who Will Be In Mortel Season 3?
It is likely that the main cast will all be reprising their roles, including Carl Malapa as Sofiane Kada, Némo Schiffman as Victor Wanderwelt, and Manon Bresch as Luisa Manjimbe. We could possibly see Corentin Fila as Obé and Anaïs Thomas as Audrey Jourdant as well, depending on how the plot turns out.
