The Spanish crime drama series that premiered on Netlfix has not only become one of the best shows in the streaming platform, but has also been renewed for a 4th season. which calls for a time-honored tradition.
Hola chicos! Guess which shows getting a fourth season? That’s right, ‘Money Heist’ (known as ‘La casa de papel’ in Spanish), the critically acclaimed Spanish heist crime drama series is coming back with more looting, killing and shooting when it returns later in 2020.
If you’re looking for any content regarding the cast, plot, and teaser for the upcoming season, then you’ve come to the right place.
Now let’s stop wasting time and get right to when we can expect the fourth chapter of ‘Money Heist’ to hit our screens, and that is April 3, 2020. This announcement was made on the official Instagram account of one of the lead actors of the show, Úrsula Corberó as follows:
The show has been picking up in popularity with each season that passes. The first season premiere on Netflix on May 9, 2017, and the second one was released shortly after on October 16, 2017. It would then take approximately two years before we got to see season 3 which was on July 19, 2019. And now it seems that we’re going to be getting season 4 on 3 April 2020, which is less than a year than the extended hiatus we got between seasons 2 and 3.
After season 2, ‘Money Heist’ was officially renewed for a 3rd and 4th season. But at that time, no release date of the 4th season was confirmed until December 8, 2019, when a trailer dropped on the YouTube channel of Netflix where it showed most of the cast members.
Majority of the leading cast will be returning judging by the short teaser clip posted on YouTube, including:
● Tokyo (played by Úrsula Corberó)
● Lisbon (Itziar Ituño)
● Professor (Álvaro Morte)
● Denver (Jaime Lorente)
● Rio (Miguel Herrán)
● Stockholm (Esther Acebo)
● Helsinki (Darko Peric)
● Palermo (Rodrigo De la Serna)
● Marsella (Luka Peros)
● Bogotá (Hovik Keuchkerian)
● Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri)
We anticipate Alba Flores to play Nairobi once again in season 4 after her again in season 3. The fans had the right to be worried after she was shot in her chest, pretty much confirming the fans that she will likely not make it. However, all those tensions were ultimately quelled when we saw Nairobi in this trailer.
Warning: Season 3 spoilers ahead! So if you haven’t caught up with the show up to this point, turn away right now.
To recap the events of Part 3, the main group got back together to pull an even bigger heist than their first one. However, it all turned out to be nothing more than a set up to rescue one of the members (Rio) who was taken in by the authorities.
The Professor may have gotten what he wanted, but not without a cost. The police had shot Nairobi in her chest after Alicia tricked her to stand by a window just so she could see her son for the first time as he was taken years prior.
What happened later on, was that The Professor broke his no-kill policy by having Tokyo and Rio launch a rocket-powered grenade at an army tanker was just about to get into the bank. Alicia had led The Professor to a trap by having him believe that Lisbon was killed by the police, which worked wonderfully. In actuality, she was taken by the police and will likely face the same kind of torture that Rio did. Finally, the last words to appear on screen or 'And, this is war."
Now that’s dandy, but what does it actually say about season 4? apparently, Lisbon, The Professor, and the other gang of thieves. The Professor usually has a plan for these types of situations, but over here, it was one where they would be lost and this was all because he couldn’t stand being alone. Before Lisbon was apprehended, The Professor had confessed his love to her and that she was the only person that he had ever been in love with.
In season 4, we’re going to see how far he will take his chances in attempting Lisbon. Even the thieves have been greatly affected by a number of things including Nairobi being shot, then shooting down a police tank with the cops aside and dealing with Rio breaking up with Tokyo.
There are plenty of rumors circulating around the net and several rumors based on the teaser suggesting that this may be the final season of Money Heist. But as of right now, nothing has been confirmed. There are also rumors suggesting that a fifth part is being worked on, but that is also yet to be determined.
Despite whether or not the show will continue on after season 4, Netflix should appreciate the services of creator Alex Pina who was already working on to upcoming series for the global streaming platform.
One of the new shows is White Lines which is an industry crime series revolving around the woman trying to discover the mystery of her brother's demise in Ibiza. The other show named Sky Rojo which is still early in development, and without any other details so far.
