'Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid' Season 2 was significant to fans because of the heart-breaking disaster that Kyoto Animation had to overcome. The studio suffered an Arson attack, which killed several employees, including the director of the first season of 'Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.' After a long wait, the studio managed to release season 2 episodes of the anime in July 2021. Fans are now wondering if the anime will still return for a third season and if Kyoto Animation will still handle the project. Here is everything we know about the potential third season of 'Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.'
As of this writing, there is still no word if 'Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid' will return for season 3, or if a third installment is already in production. Considering the development from the previous two seasons, it is still a little early for a renewal announcement. The first season of the anime finished airing in April 2017. The sequel did not get confirmed until February 2019 through a wraparound jacket band on manga Volume 8. It was not until August 2020 that we received a confirmation that Kyoto Animation will return to produce the sequel.
As most of you might already know, Kyoto Animation suffered from an arson attack that killed 35 studio employees, including Director Yasuhiro Takemoto, who helmed 'Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid' season 1. The fire incident greatly affected the studio's current projects. So when the second season of 'Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid' was released, fans celebrated and took it as a metaphor of the studio rising from the ashes. With the enormous support from fans, the third season of 'Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid' is very likely, but it might take a while.
There was a four-year gap between the first two seasons of 'Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.' The first season finished airing in April 2017, and season 2 arrived in July 2021.
The second season of 'Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid' aired 12 episodes from July to September 2021. A 13th episode released exclusively on BluRay on January 19, 2022. Based on this schedule, there is a possibility that the third season might not arrive until 2025. We will continue to wait for updates.

The second season of 'Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid' made us all swoon.
Tohru confesses her feelings for Kobayashi and says she made her realize she could just be herself. Tohru wants to take her relationship with Kobayashi to the next level and asks for her hand in marriage, even magically transforming their clothing into wedding dresses.
Kobayashi still refuses to admit her feelings, and reciprocate Tohru's affection. However, we might see more of their chaotic but cute love affair should there be a third season.
Based on where the 12-episodes of the second season ended, we expect the third season to start adapting the Dragon Ball story arc from Volume 8.
In this arc, Kobayashi, Tohru, Shouta, and Lucoa travel to England so Shouta can attend a one-day magic school.
Upon arriving, Kobayashi unintentionally takes the written magical exam and ranks first, even ahead of Shouta!
But that is not the peak of this story arc. The Dragon Balls have been gaining power, which can affect the current balance. Aside from the ensuing threats, we also expect to see a continuation of Kobayashi and Tohru's budding romance in the new season.
The main voice cast list will likely return if the anime gets renewed for a third season.
