After the success of 'Stranger Things' and 'Enola Holmes' Brown's partnership with Netflix is going to continue as she is set to work on another movie with them.
Millie Bobby Brown is only 17 but has plenty of successful projects under her belt already. Even before she made waves as Eleven on Netflix's sci-fi series Stranger Things, the British actress had been a part of other major projects including a lead role in British mystery series Intruders for BBC and guest appearances on Modern Family and Grey's Anatomy. Her role in the much-acclaimed Netflix film Enola Holmes was well received and she is currently working on the sequel. She was also a producer for both films.
Her partnership with Netflix will continue as she is set to work on another movie for the streaming service. The movie is titled Damsel and here's everything we know so far.
Damsel is set to be a fantasy movie that will have magical elements, including dragons. It is a play on the phrase "damsel in distress" and will have a strong lead female character.
So far we know that Brown will be playing Princess Elodie in this fantastical romance fairytale gone wrong. Elodie waits to be wed to Prince Henry since her father needs the money she will fetch from this union. She is also told to be a good and obedient wife to the prince. But in reality, she is going to be sacrificed to a dragon. The princess then has a showdown with the dragon and the damsel in distress saves herself in this one.
This is as much as we know about the upcoming project.
So far the only confirmed cast in this project is Millie Bobby Brown. It will be directed by Oscar-nominee Juan Carlos Fresnadillo who also worked on Intruders. Dan Mazeau has written the screenplay for Damsel.
Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum will produce this project. It will be executively produced by Brown herself, under her PCMA banner along with Mazeau, Zack Roth, and Chris Castaldi.
A release date for the show has not yet been revealed. The production is still scheduled to begin next year so a late 2022 or early 2023 release can be expected. Brown has been filming for Enola Holmes 2 at the moment. The film will be releasing next year. The fourth season of Stranger Things will also be coming out in 2022.
The film has not yet entered production. So there is no official trailer yet. But make sure to watch this space for any updates in the future.
