Midnight Mass Season 2

Have you watched Midnight Mass? It's a supernatural horror mini-series on Netflix, created and directed by Mike Flanagan. Flanagan is known for other successful supernatural series on Netflix, such as The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor. The show's plot revolves around the mysterious priest who arrives on an isolated island community and triggers a series of supernatural events.

The show debuted on September 24, 2021, and was highly praised by critics. The series skillfully intertwined themes of religion, blind faith, guilt, and death into a captivating storyline that kept viewers engaged from start to finish. It's no wonder that fans are eager for more. Here's what you should know about the show's future.

Will There Be Season 2 Of Midnight Mass?

The series was made by Flannagan as a limited series. It was a series he was hoping to make since 2014 but everyone passed on it including Netflix. "That’s the best project I’ll never make," he told crew members when Midnight Mass appeared as a book in his films Hush and Gerald’s Game. The project was finally brought to life and announced in 2019. It was made into a seven-part series. The story has a definite ending. (Warning! Spoilers ahead.)

At the end of the story, the whole town has participated in the Midnight Mass during which they were "resurrected" by the blood of the sinister creature who had followed Father Paul from Jerusalem. This ritual essentially turns people into vampires. To bring an end to the reign of terror, island residents Lynn, Hannah, and the town's sheriff Hassan ensure there is no shade when the sun rises and turns everyone to dust. There are only two survivors from the island.

If there was to be a second season, it would have to follow the survivors — Leeza and Warren. But Netflix has not stated that there will be a new season of the show.

We also meet Riley Flynn, a former resident of the island who returns after hit-and-run sentencing. He becomes the first victim of Father Paul and the winged creature and also changes the trajectory of the fate of the island by confiding in his childhood sweetheart, Lynn.
