Mieruko Chan Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

The Mieruko-Chan anime, known as 見える子ちゃん in Japan or The Girl Who Can See Them in some countries is an anime based on a very popular manga written and illustrated by Tomoki Izumi. Mieruko-Chan the Horror anime is known for its comedy elements which make it stand out from the rest. The first season of the anime has 12 episodes and already amassed a pretty sizable audience base who are longing for season 2. So, if you are one of them, please keep reading for all the details we have…

Is Mieruko-Chan Returning for Season 2?

We do not have any official confirmation but let’s look at the determining factors. The first is the source material. The manga has a total of 6 volumes, so it’s safe to say that they can definitely continue the story. Also, another factor to be noted is that the manga is ongoing, and the end is still out of sight. The second determining factor is the series’ sales figures. Well, the sales have not made it clear if the show is in profit as of now. In other words, it’s too early to tell. We might have to wait another six months to get some clarity on the same. So, to summarize, we don’t have a confirmation or a release date.

What is The Plot of Mieruko-Chan?

The plot follows the story of a girl named Miko who can see ghosts. The ghosts that we see in this show are far from the cute style of art. This means the show has a polarising contrast between the two art styles, the shounen art style and the seinen style. The show is basically a character-driven show with very little story to it. As we approach the end of the season, we see Miko meet a new homeroom teacher as her current one has gone on maternity leave.

What Can We Expect from Mieruko-Chan Season 2?

In the last episode, we see Zen freed from the guilt after his mother’s ghost is destroyed. We see that Miko finds a way to adopt a newly rescued kitten. We have little to no information on who the shine maidens are, so we are assuming that the show will explore that plotline in season 2 when and if it happens. The status of the cat killer is also not known as of now. So, in short, a lot can happen in season 2, and new characters and plotlines can also get added. To get a better idea, I suggest you read the manga series.
