Marvel Zombies Live Action Version Coming To The MCU, Says Mark Millar

The creator of the Marvel Zombies episode of What If...? has revealed that a live-action version is on the way.

Marvel Zombies

In the fifth episode of Marvel's animated series What if...? we saw most of the main Avengers as zombies. The episode has apparently paved the way for a live-action version.

This news came from comic book creator Mark Millar. Millar, who is best known for Kick-ass and Kingsman, also came up with the idea for Marvel zombies.

In a recent email newsletter, Millar stated that his sources have told him that a Marvel live-action version is on the way.

He wrote:

...also (if my sources are correct) a little live-action Marvel Zombies further down the line, but you never heard that from me.
Marvel Zombies Live-Action Version

Rumors of the Marvel zombies live-action version have been in circulation way before even the What if...? series premiered. In 2019, rumors were going around that the Marvel zombies were going to make their way to the MCU in a series of movies and TV shows involving Secret Wars. The rumors claimed that Mephisto will be unleashing "hell on Earth" and the Marvel Zombies and the Spirits of Vengeance.

The Russo brothers have made it evident that they want to direct a Secret Wars movie but after Scarlett Johanson's Black Widow lawsuit, the talks have reportedly been thrown out the window. At least for now.

It is not yet been confirmed if the Secret Wars movie will be connected to the upcoming Marvel zombies live action.

Chris Evans is also speculated to return as zombie Captain America. The Russos have mentioned that Evans isn't done with Marvel yet. How he will return is currently unclear. If it's not in Captain America 4 then it could be as zombie Cap.

Millar is a credible source of information so we can take this information with a little more than a grain of salt.

Would you watch a live-action Marvel zombie movie if it were to be released?
