Marvel Planning To Kill Two Guardians In The New Guardians Of The Galaxy Movie

James Gunn about to pull off a huge shocking twist by preparing to off two of our favorite Guardians in GOTG Vol. 3

Marvel Planning To Kill Two Guardians In The New Guardians Of The Galaxy Movie

With the ongoing situation of the coronavirus pandemic around the world, it's hard to know precisely when we may get to see the next entry in the iconic Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. But even with the situation at hand, it seems as though director James Gunn is planning one head-turner of a creative decision later on - something that could very well shake the Marvel Universe at its core.

Guardians Of The Galaxy

Before we begin this article, we should let you know that there are serious spoilers ahead for those who haven't caught up with the series until now.

Usually, we would take rumors with a grain of salt, but We Got This Covered isn't precisely a website that is typically off the mark with their reports. Still, anything can happen in the future, so we'll hold on to that salt just a little longer until the film comes out.

Are you ready for this? Okay then:

"Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Will Reportedly Kill Off Two Guardians."

That is precisely what reads on the article covered by We Got This Covered.

Guardians Of The Galaxy

This news came out after Gunn confirmed that Kraglin would also be returning in the next installment of the famous film franchise. And yes, it has also been confirmed that James's younger brother Sean will return to play him as well (which isn't really all that surprising since James tends to cast Sean in his movies).

James had also informed us that the story of Vol 3. takes place after what went down in Avengers: Endgame. However, he also told us that what happened with Thanos and his goons wouldn't precisely impact the story that much.

Still, it appears Gunn wants to give fans a real emotional roller coaster experience with this seeming shocker of a development. Guess that's what happens when you think your heroes look to have gotten their happy ending, and nothing could go horribly wrong. Ah, but alas, we were apparently wrong.

Getting into the real meat of this news article. according to the closest sources to WGTC - which are apparently the same ones that informed us of a Guardians cameo in Thor: Love And Thunder, as well as telling us that a She-Hulk series is on its way to Disney Plus, of which both have now been confirmed - the present draft of Vol. 3's script right now has reportedly penciled both Nebula and Rocket Raccoon to die. According to the leak, Nebula will save the other Guardians by sacrificing herself earlier in the film, whereas Rocket will meet his end at the hands of the High Evolutionary.

We can understand why Nebula has to go considering what she's done in the past and why it would completely redeem her character, but killing off the obvious fan-favorite in Rocket Raccoon is a shot in the heart itself.

Guardians Of The Galaxy

Now even though Vol. 3 is touted to be the last entry for our favorite band of space heroes, there are also plans for a prequel series that focuses on the possible origins of Gamora and her foster sister Nebula on Disney Plus as well as a possible series depicting Drax and Mantis.

Still, who knows what the future holds. James might even surprise us for when the third and final chapter of the epic intergalactic saga ultimately concludes. The best thing we can do is pray and hope that these reports, at least the one about Rocket, don't turn out to be true.
