Mark Wahlberg Is The Latest Addition To The Scooby-Doo Movie After Zac Efron Joined The Cast

Wahlberg will play the character of Blue Falcon, a superhero from the Hanna-Barbera creation who teamed up with the mystery gang to fight against one of their arch enemies.

Actor Mark Wahlberg, along with Jason Isaacs, has joined the cast of Scooby-doo and the Mystery Gang to fight against one of his arch-enemies, Mr. Hyde. It was previously reported that  Zac Efron and Amanda Seyfried had been cast in the new Scooby-Doo reboot, and they will play the role of the franchise's power couple, Fred and Daphne, as reported by Deadline.

Blue Falcon's right hand Dynomutt will be voiced by Ken Jeong. The role of the main villain will be played by Isaacs. He will play the role of Dick Dastardly, who is the main villain in 'Scoob'. Apart from Wahlberg and Isaacs, the cast includes Zac Efron, Amanda Seyfried, Gina Rodriguez, Will Forte, Tracy Morgan, Frank Welker, and Kiersey Clemons. The movie is being directed by Tony Cervon and the screenplay of the movie is being written by Kelly Freemon Craig and Matt Lieberman. 

The producers of the movie include Allison Abbate, Pam Coats, Charles Roven, and Richard Suckle while the executive producers are Chris Columbus and Andy Horwitz. The world was first introduced to the mystery-solving gang way back in 1969 when Hanna-Barbera created the original series 'Scooby-Doo: Where Are You?' The plot details of the reboot will involve a bunch of characters from the Hanna-Barbera universe, coming together to save the world from the evil Dick Dastardly. 


The 'Scooby-Doo' was then adapted into a live-action movie back in 2002 and had a sequel, 'Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed' in 2004. But the latest addition to the franchise will be another animation that is taken from the original series that dates back to the 1970s. Wahlberg is a two-time Oscar nominee for the Best Picture nom 'The Fighter' and 'The Departed'. Additionally, he also serves as an executive producer on HBO’s Ballers and counts seven Primetime Emmy nominations for such series that includes 'Entourage', 'Boardwalk Empire', and 'Wahlburgers'. Wahlberg also has two Golden Globe nominations for 'The Fighter' and 'The Departed'.
