However, the path to success is not an easy road. In the first season, Shigeno fell into depression after realizing his skills are not on par with his father. He gave up on his dreams and lived an unmotivated life for a long time until a new classmate helped him get over his disappointment and brought him back to sports. The father of this new classmate is also a famous baseball player and friend of Daigo’s father. The two developed a strong friendship and proved to each other that they can be great players. If the anime series gets renewed for season 3, it will continue chronicling Shigeno’s quest in the sports world.
