Made In Abyss tells the story of Riko, an orphaned girl who lives in a town called Orth. A gigantic hole descending deep into the earth lies in the midst of the town, and it's known as the Abyss Cave Raiders regularly hunt for lost artifacts from a civilization that is long gone. Riko wished to explore the Abyss, and one day she came across a half-human and half-robot boy whom she named Reg. Together they join forces to find Riko’s missing mother after bidding farewell to her friends as she begins her descent into the Abyss along with Reg. We can expect Riko, Reg, Nanachi, Prushka, and Faputa to continue their journey down the 6th layer of the Abyss.
We can look forward to the original cast members reprising their roles. Miyu Tomita voices Riko, and Shiori Izawa plays Nanachi. Along with that, we have Mariya Ise as Reg and Mutsumi Tamura as Natto. The series is directed by Masayuki Kojima and created by Kinema Citrus studio. It’s also available for viewing on Adult Swim (Toonami) for the English-speaking audience.
