Macaulay Culkin May Return As Kevin McCallister In Home Alone Reboot

Macaulay Culkin is said to be returning in the Disney Plus reboot of Home Alone.

Home Alone

A new Home Alone is on its way to Disney Plus. This was confirmed by Disney not long after they acquired the rights to the franchise from Fox. It was first thought that the rebooted Home Alone would not feature the original star Macaulay Culkin and fans were not happy. This outrage seemed to have gotten Disney to change their mind about casting Culkin.

A reliable source who told WGTC that Bill Murray would return for Ghostbusters: Afterlife and that Han would return in Fast and Furious 9 have said that Culkin will return for Home Alone reboot. Culkin will play his original character Kevin McCallister but will play a supporting role. It will feature adult Kevin who now owns his own security firm. The main lead will be a boy named Max whose house will be fitted with Kevin's new security system.

According to reports, Disney has sent out a casting call for actors in their 40's and 50's to play the role of the security firm owner. However, it is likely that they will simply go with Culkin.

Culkin has previously played Kevin McCallister in a recent Google Ad and it would make a lot of sense if the Home Alone franchise continues with some connection to the star.

Filming is expected to begin soon and the lead role of Max will be played by JoJo Rabbit star Archie Yates. The young boy will be up against a married couple of crooks after he stole something that belonged to them.

This plot has yet to be confirmed but it is said that the role of the married couple will be played by Rob Delaney and Ellie Kemper.

I am completely down to see Culkin return as Kevin in the Home Alone reboot. What do you think? Do you think Disney should get Culkin to return?
