'Love Alarm' season 2 ended in a happy ending. Will the Kdrama series return for more?
'Love Alarm' made history as the first Korean drama series picked up by Netflix, although 'Kingdom' managed to release ahead of the romantic kdrama series.
Fans were very happy when 'Love Alarm' was renewed for season 2, which was released on the platform in March.
The second season ended on a positive note for both the couples. Now, fans are wondering if 'Love Alarm' is coming back for more, or will season 2's happy ending serve as a conclusion for the series. Let us dive deep.
'Love Alarm' has not been renewed for season 3 yet as of this writing. Although season 2 of the kdrama series had a satisfying ending, there is still a way for the show to return for another season. The webtoon on which the show is based continues up to this date. Should Netflix decide to renew the series, they still have available source material.
Nonetheless, it's safe to say that it is still a little too early for a renewal announcement. The second season of the series has just released on Netflix in March. Other foreign shows had to wait even as long as 8 months before getting renewed. Hence, it's a 50/50 chance as of the moment.
We will update this article once the series gets renewed.
We are still waiting for Netflix to pick up 'Love Alarm' for season 3. Should the series get renewed soon, we will likely wait at least a year or more before season 3 drops.
Love Alarm premiered on Netflix on August 22, 2019. It took 18 months before the second season hit the platform on March 12, 2021. Hopefully, season 3 won't take that long to produce as the world slowly recovers from the pandemic.
'Love Alarm' season 2 ended beautifully. Jojo and Hye Young finally became a couple after each of their Love Alarms rung for each other.
On the other hand, Sun Oh is now trying to come to terms with his feelings for Jojo. He has instead redirected his attention to his new girlfriend Yook Jo and is determined to ring her Love Alarm one day.
If the show gets renewed for a new season, it will likely explore the relationship between the two couples.
Hye Young and Jojo might have ended with each other. However, their relationship could get threatened by Jojo's insecurity. Hye Young's alarm rung for Jojo, but Jojo is still wondering if she would've also rung his Love Alarm if she did not use the shield. The two are clearly head over heels against each other, but Jojo's doubts about herself could cause a rife in their relationship.
Season 3 could also further follow the relationship between Sun Oh and Yook Jo.
Love Alarm is not confirmed for season 3 yet. However, if the show gets renewed, we are expecting to see the main cast members reprise their roles to continue their love story. They are:
Kim So-hyun as Kim Jo-jo, a cheerful and hardworking high school student with a painful family history. Jung Ga-ram as Lee Hye-young, the son of a domestic helper working at Sun-Oh's house. He likes Jojo and eventually becomes her lover by the end of season 2.
Song Kang as Hwang Sun-oh, the handsome model who came from an affluent but dysfunctional family.
And lastly, Kim Si-eun as Lee Yook-jo, Sun-Oh's new girlfriend.
We are still waiting for the Kdrama series to get renewed. Hence, there is no official trailer for season 3 yet as of the moment. Here is the season 2 trailer for you to enjoy in the meantime. 'Love Alarm' seasons 1 and 2 are now available for streaming on Netflix.
